It was the end of the eighth grade when I met Ashlynn. I remember the first words she had said to me too.

Hey! Dannie right? How do you spell that? My names Ashlynn by the way, but you can call me Ash. Is that a tongue pierce? Have you ever though about getting a tattoo? You're lucky, my parents won't even let me get an ear pierce, much less than a tongue pierce...

I laughed at her hysterical and rapid speech. I lent out a hand and smiled.

Its Dannie. Dannie with an ie.

That was three years ago. And in those three years, I built up such a sisterly relationship with Ashlynn and to have it crumble with a stupid fight? What am I, a toddler! I blamed Ashlynn for this and I didn't even bother to look at my own part of this.

Part of me told me that it was Ashlynn's part, but the other half told me it was Trinity's fault. First of all, it was Ashlynn's fault for lying to me. Three years at that. Though it was my fault for being such a dick friend and not being forgiving. Then, it was Trinity's fault for telling me. If only she hadn't, then maybe me and Ashlynn could've spend the rest of our years as best friends. We could graduate together, go to college together and work together... but if only it weren't to her, and Trinity, and me... god, I am such a dick.

I walked out of the nurses office, feeling nauseous and dizzy again. It happened on a daily basis though. A sick feeling stuck to the bottom of my stomach and my head spun so much I had to sit down every five seconds. The nurse helped me though. She called me in frequently for the past days and checked up on me. She was like another mother to me... also, it was an excuse to skip the dreaded gym.

I walked down the empty halls of Prince Alley. Everybody was either in class, in the bathroom, or skipping, just like me. As I rounded the corner, I heard indistinct talking. If I were my usual self, I would've brushed it away, but I knew who was behind this corner. I clenched my fists as Ashlynn and a group of other girls walked by, talking about boys and make up and whatnot. I walked faster, yearning for some space that wasn't suffocating. I could feel eyes on my back, and I knew they were Ashlynn's.

"Andy!" I shouted as I swung open the door. Andy shot up startled while knocking over some equipment. I stifled a laugh, but a small giggle escaped. He gave me a stern glare.

"Not funny, Dan."

"My bad."

"What are you doing here?" he asked. I shrugged and leaned over the counter. Honestly, I was just getting rid of my boredom.

"Just... hanging. I wanted to ask you a question." Andy glanced at me with a puzzled look. "Remember Ashlynn?"

Andy tensed.

"....What about her?" he asked after a moment of silence. I shrugged.

"Well..." My sentence drifted off. What about her? I just brought her up without thinking. "She, um... she likes her piercing...?" I said, hoping it didn't sound like a question. Andy laughed genuinely.

"That's good." he smiled. I quirked an eyebrow and gasped.

"Oh my god--! You like her!" I screeched. Andy shot up and covered my mouth, clamping his hand over my mouth. Then, he glared at me menacingly.

"Are you trying to wake up the other side of world?!" Andy growled. I couldn't help but smile. By the way he was acting, there was no denying it.

"You like her!" I whispered. Andy's cheeks colored and he looked away.

"I don't like-like her, I just...think she's a great kid." Andy shrugged. I bit down a chuckle. It made me feel proud. To know that my ex-best friend and my co-worker actually like each other. Like, they had mutual feelings. Holy shieet.

"You gonna ask her out?" I blurted. Andy glared.

"Why would I?"

"Er, cause you like her? Dur..." I rolled my eyes. That was a stupid question, Andy.

"I'm like, 5-6 years older than her!" I shrugged.

"Love knows no boundaries." Andy scoffed.

"Is age one of them?"

Of course! .... not." I smirked. I liked confusing Andy with my weird answers. Not just him, but all of my co workers.

"Look, I'm not going to ask Ashlynn out and that's that. Get a real job, cupid." Andy muttered. I stuck my tongue out at him. This was so not over. "Are you going to tell me what's going on between you two?"

I tensed.

"W-What are you talking about? Me and Ashlynn are best friends!" I swallowed, trying to get the lump in my throat to go back down. Andy gave me a firm glance.

"Dan..." he warned. I bit my lip. I really didn't want to give in, but I had no choice. I exhaled sharply.

"There's really nothing going on between us." I said. Yeah, because there is no us.

"Hmph, figured." I perked up.

"What?!" I gasped. Andy shrugged. Again.

"Well, for one, you stopped calling her Ash."

So yeah... kinda late update, maybe, sorta, whatever. I was kind of stuck in a writer's block. It was like being stuck in peanut butter! But worse, chunky...

Hahaa, or maybe I was just lazy? Okie, I made up my mind! I'll stop being lazy when lazy stops being so awesome. And... if my Batman training resides...

Anyways!
