"I think they're leaving..." Xavier said. I peered through my window and saw the girl step into Nick's car as Nick pulled out his phone. He then looked down at it and after a few seconds, my phone vibrated.

Well, at least he had the decency to call me.

Is that what you expected me to say? Nope. What I said was totally different and completely uncalled for.

"What a piece of shit." I said while pressing the ignore button. Nick looked down at his phone, shrugged, then stepped into the driver's seat, kissing the girl. "Is Ash here yet?" I asked impatiently. Xavier smirked and chuckled, but then covered his mouth with his hand.

"What?"

"Nothing, just the fact that you started calling Ashlynn 'Ash' again like nothing happened between you two is funny." He said. I frowned and looked down at my hands. He was right, but wrong at the same time. Sure I called her by her nickname unconsciously, but stuff did happen between us. And boy were we going to have a long talk when I see her.

"Are we going after them or what?" I snapped. Xavier narrowed his eyes at Nick in the mirror then back at me.

"Don't you want to wait for Ashlynn?" He asked. I sighed and rubbed the bridge of my nose. I did not need this kind of drama happening when I was pregnant.

All this baby mama drama.

"Ashlyn said she'd be here in 15 minutes so I'd wait here, but by then Nick would be gone and we'd be too late..." I said calculating the stuff inside my head. "So yes, we follow, but stay behind like, 2 miles."

"How much do you think 2 miles is?" Xavier said as he pulled out of the campus.

"What? Isn't it like, 10 yards?" I said. Xavier stared at me with blank eyes and then turned away, shaking his head. "What?"

"No wonder you dropped out of school, you dumbass." Xavier said. I gawked at him and slapped his arm continuously. "Kidding! Ouch!"

Nick stopped at Purple Ink, probably just to check if I was there. And when he finds out neither Xavier or I am there, he's gonna flip tables. We were probably wrong to leave the store in Seth's hands, but what else could I do? I wouldn't stay in a room with that guy even though he was right about Nick.

Nick didn't save me. Well, he did, but he most likely saved hundreds of girls before me.

Xavier's phone rang and I glanced at him. We were backed into an alley that was covered by a gate. Xavier peered down at his phone and looked at me. I urged him to pick it up.

"Hello, Xavier Simmons speaking," Xavier said all too formally. He immediately put it on speaker.

"Xavier, do you know where Dannie is? I can't find her anywhere," Nick asked. Xavier clenched the phone and I put my hand on his arm to calm him.

"No, I don't know where she is."

"Oh, okay then. And why is Seth by himself?"

"Who knows? Anyways, I'm busy right now so I'll call you if I see her, okay?" Xavier asked impatiently--hurrying to get off the phone with Nick.

"Alright then, I'll see you later--" without saying goodbye, Xavier hung up the phone and shoved it in his pocket.

"Thanks for clarifying that your boyfriend is a complete asswipe, Dan. You do realize I still have to work with him?" Xavier said. I scrunched up my nose and stuck my tongue out at him. "Where to now?"

I peered down at my phone. I had told Ashlynn to call me when she gets into town--because apparently she was in Los Angeles for some unknown reason--and she just texted me that she was passing the bridge that connected my town to the big city.

"We'll meet her where Nick is." I said and gestured for Xavier to continue following my boyfriend and his hot side chick. I felt my skin tingle and my blood boil when I thought of him.

I loved him, I gave everything up for him. My parents probably hated me now, no surprise there, I lost my best friend, and Jay...

"Dannie?" Xavier asked, snapping me out of my thoughts and sick to reality. I blinked and felt a tear drop onto my jeans. I didn't even notice I was crying. "You okay, sweetie?"

I laughed softly and wiped my tears--which didn't seem to stop falling.

"Yeah... I'm fine..." I whimpered, making Xavier shift uncomfortably in his seat.

"Don't try to act all tough and mighty now..." he muttered. I flinched and the next thing I knew, I was bawling my eyes out until the wrists of my sweater was damp with tears.
