The Detective And The Thief (On Hiatus)

Chapter 2

When KID arrived with Conan at the professor's Haibara was already waiting for her at the gate. When Haibara saw KID holding a barely conscious Conan in his arms she was shocked but then it had settled with a look knowing that something like this would happen. She showed him inside and Agasa took Conan from KID and hurried into the basement. When Haibara was going to close the door she was met with a foot blocking the way. KID tried to make his way to the basement to make sure Conan was safe but Haibara wasn't going to let that happen. She pulled out a gun but it was only a simple pistol nothing more nothing less and aimed it at KID's head. She started to send him icy death glares he saw that she wasn't afraid of shooting and ran for the hills.

"Bang," Haibara said shooting the gun as red roses appeared.

When Haibara entered the basement she saw Shinichi lying there asleep her body covered with the duvet. Haibara decided to quickly dress Shinichi in some pyjamas she got ready for her to wear when she grew back. They were simple red tartan pyjamas best for the time of year they were going through. It was late September and the cold was taking its toll on everyone.

---Time Skip---

It was the next day and Shinichi woke up in her old body in her old room. She got out of bed and made herself a black coffee and took it to the library to drink while reading Sherlock Holmes. As soon as she sat down there was a knock on the door. She was surprised to get a visitor but decided to answer. When she opened the door standing there was Heiji Hattori. They both hugged each other after making eye contact.

"Hey, how have ya been?" Heiji said holding Shinichi's shoulders.

"I've been good as you can see, but how did you know I will be here?" Shinichi asked letting Heiji in and resuming her coffee

"I went down the detective agency so I asked Ran-san and she said ya went ta yer parents so I knew exactly were ta look,"  Heiji said while looking around the library.

"How did you get away from Ran?" Shinichi asked wondering how he managed to escape.

"Oh I just said that I had ta meet up with a client but she is gonna get a massive surprise when she sees ya," Heiji said with some excitement in his eyes.

"Yeah but I don't know how to approach it saying 'hey I'm back after not being here for more than a month and hardly ever calling you'," Shinichi said with worry in her voice she was not ready to confront Ran, but at that moment an uninvited guest came in.

"Heiji-kun are you here?"

"Heiji?"

They could hear Ran's and Kazuha's voices echoing through the mansion until they fell on the library. The door slowly opened with Shinichi awaiting her doom. Shinichi locked eyes with Ran.

Author's Note

I left you on a cliffhanger in a way. How will Ran react? The mystery of the figures in black has not been revealed. The song at the beginning was 'Wolf In Sheep's Clothing' by Set It Off one of the best bands of all time. The whole time writing this I had it stuck in my head so I thought why not put it at the top. Hope you enjoyed this update sorry it is a bit short but until next time
