sitting in the sand
watching the waves swaying back and forth
not uttering a single word
eyes distant,
silently reminiscing our radiant memories
embedded in my heart and mind
how we would take long walks at the beach at night
how we would sit next to each other
while watching the glorious sunset
and how we would lie along the sand
our hands intertwined
whilst staring at the glistening stars
i close my eyes as i feel a lump slowly rising in my throat
i hiss silently and shake my head vehemently
forcing myself to not think about you anymore
and after what felt like decades,
i finally grab the courage to stand up
i smile bitterly and gaze at the ferocious shore one last time
before turning around and walking away
just like what you did to me
