Chapter 21 Kat’s POV
Three weeks later the cops finally got a confession. The man I had been fighting, James, had told them everything, and the cops even came back asking if we had seen ghosts. When we said yes they asked us why we hadn’t mentioned them before and we told them that if we did, the cops would have thought we were delusional. We asked them how they knew, and they said that James had told them he had made a hologram/projected scene in which Jade and I were spying on my dad in order to make us think we were delusional. It had worked, but now that we knew what had happened we felt better about going to my place. The cops filled in all of the tunnels, and instead of paying me my due amount for finding the tunnels and turning the gang in, they paid me half and used the other half to build an underground kingdom under my house only so that I could get around and spy with Jade. Ever since we were little we loved spying. We both wanted to become FBI agents and the police even said they would put this on permanent record so that when we applied for the jobs, we would appear as heros. Ever since then, whenever we go into the police station, we are greeted with smiles and nice comments.
Hunter’s POV
It took Kat three months to realize that ever since she started to interact with me I hadn’t played a single girl. Not one. When she finally asked about it, I told her how I felt, and she kissed me! She said that she was willing to give it a try, and we told Jade, whose only worry was that Kat wouldn’t have time for her if she had a boyfriend, which was unimaginable, Kat would never leave Jade in the dust. Kat had saved my life and we stayed together for the rest of middle school and high school (and we didn’t know it yet, but for the rest of our lives too)
Jade finally found that my brother, Carter, was the person she liked, and when I told Carter this, he admitted that his secret crush was Jade. That couple was inseparable!
Jade’s POV
Saving Hunter was Kat’s first step. When she finally realized that he hadn’t played a girl since he first became her friend, she talked to me and I told her to ask him. I had already had that talk I was mentioning, about why Hunter said “I wish”, and he said he had a crush on her! Who knew!? A little while after they got together I got a boyfriend, Carter, and we were ‘inseparable’ in Hunter’s words. Both Carter and I and Kat and Hunter stayed together all the way into high school, and eventually married, but that stuff goes in the epilogue, or so I’m told.
