Perrie was getting married??
No. This wasn't happening...
Not today... Not to me...
I don't think she even realized today is my birthday?
Of course I'm happy for her but... That means she was gonna leave again.
I felt Kind of bad leaving her out there.
I quietly opened my door.
She was visiting with mom and dad.
"Ryen, come say hi to your sister." Dad said motioning me over.
I silently came over and sat down.
"Perr, did you know today's Ryen's birthday?" Mom asked.
Perrie's eyes filled with guilt.
"Oh my gosh, Ryen... You never said anything!" Perrie said.
I shrugged.
"I think someone's knocking." I said excusing myself from the situation.
I turned the corner and went to the front door. I opened it.
It was my best friend, Maddy.
"Maddy!" I said hugging her.
"Ryen. Hey! Happy birthday!" She said handing me a present.
I let her in.
"Thanks mad. I'm glad you remembered." I said looking at it.
"Well why wouldn't I?" Maddy asked.
"Well... Considering my own sister forgot... I wasn't sure." I said.
Maddy's face showed sympathy.
"Oh, so perries home?" She asked.
I nodded.
"Well she hasn't seen you in like what? 6 months? I'm sure it was just a forgetful mistake." Maddy said.
"Maybe." I said.
Maddy followed me into the living room where Perrie, mom and dad were.
"Madison!" Mom exclaimed.
Maddy waved and smiled.
"Maddy? Is that you?" Perrie asked.
She nodded and smiled.
"You've grown up so much, just like Ryen!" Perrie exclaimed.
"Thanks." Maddy said.
"Alright girls, your father and I are going to go out. Perrie is going to be watching you, Ryen." Mom said.
I nodded even though I was uncomfortable with my own sister taking care of me.
"Hey, Ryen I'm gonna go home, I want you and your sister to work things out, ok? See you tomorrow." Maddy said walking out the door along with my parents.
When Perrie and I were alone, she got on her phone.
"Ryen, I hope you don't mind... Zayn and the boys would like to visit today. They took a plane here with me but I wanted to wait." Perrie said.
My hands suddenly got really sweaty.
Zayn... And the boys.... Meaning Niall.
"Uh...." I started.
"C'mon ry, it'll be fun." Perrie said.
All the words he once said to me flooded my head.
All the scars I had to hide from my parents.
"Ryen, they'll be here in an hour."
