Chapter 26

-

(Ryen's POV)

-

When I woke up, I was in an unfamiliar place. I was in someone's bed. I got up and left the room. I walked around when I heard the name.
"Ryen?"
I turned around and it was Austin.
"Hi. Is this your house?" I asked.
He nodded. It was huge. It was a mansion pretty much.
"I feel bad for leaving Harry..." I said.
Austin put his arm around my shoulder.
"Don't worry Ryen. He wasn't good for you."
"But he was... So, maybe he's a player... I might've changed him." I said.
"Ryen, you can change someone for who they are." Austin said.
I looked down at the floor.
"Wouldn't you agree?" Austin continued.
I shrugged.
"I- I guess so" I said with tears leaking.
He wiped them away.
"Don't cry. It only makes me sad." Austin lied.
I stopped for him. I thought he loved me.
When I went outside there was a girl there.
She was small. She had short curly dark brown hair with hazel eyes. She had on a white shirt with purple leggings and black little shoes.
"Hi." I said to her.
"Hi..." She shyly said.
"Are you looking for Austin?" I asked.
She shook her head no.
"I'm lost." She said hugging me.
I suddenly felt bad for her.
"How old are you?" I asked.
"4." She replied.
"Aw sweetie... Do you know of any sign where your parents are?" I asked.
"The last time I saw them we were at the house... Then we drove to a gas station and they told me to get out of the car a second. So I did. Then they drove off..." She said crying.
I cried to.
Do you know what state you lived in?" I asked her.
"Maine." She replied.
I covered my mouth.
"Honey, we live in California. That's a real distance from here." I said.
She nodded and held on tight to me.
"I'm scared." She said.
I picked her up.
I brought her inside.
When Austin saw me he looked at me funny.
"Who's this?" He asked disgusted.
"I didn't actually catch your name." I said looking at her.
She cupped her hands and whispered it to me.
I turned to Austin.
"Her name is Caitlyn." I said to him.
"We'll get her out of here." Austin said.
"What's the matter with you. No. She's lost." I said.
"Well to bad for her!" Austin yelled.
"Your acting like a child!" I yelled back at him.
With Caitlyn still in my arms, I walked out the door.
"We're done Austin." I said leaving.
Caitlyn hid her head in my shoulder.
I walked back to my house.
When I opened the door. I saw everyone.
Perrie rushed to me.
"Ryen!! Your ok-- who's the girl?" She asked.
I laughed.
"Everyone, this is Caitlyn. She's lost. Her parents abandoned her. They love in Maine." I said.
Everyone gasped.
I saw Harry sitting in the chair. He was still crying.
I walked into the kitchen and sat her down on the chair.
"Are you hungry?" I asked.
She nodded.
I fixed her up her up a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut up in the shape of stars and a cup of orange juice.
I set it down in front of her and she ate it.
"Can I call you mommy?" She asked wiping her mouth.
I didn't know what to say.
"Um.. Well I'm not really your mommy." I said.
"But mommy did the stuff you do for me... Pwease?" She asked.
I couldn't say no.
"Sure." I said smiling.
