Chapter 19
-
(Ryen's POV)
-
When it got late, I had let Harry lay with me. He had fallen asleep faster than I thought.
I had gotten so much sleep, all I could do was lie awake and think.
I stroked Harry's curls with my fingers.
Poor baby.
When I was half asleep, I was awoken by a tap on my shoulder.
Who would be in here at 2 a.m?
I opened my eyes and standing there was Niall.
But this wasn't Niall. This was dark.
His hair was still blonde, but had brown strikes, his eyes looked darker, he had a black t shirt on with a black leather jacket and black tight jeans. He looked scary.
"Come with me." He said.
But I stayed. I held onto Harry's hand tightly.
"I said, come!" He shouted. I winced and shut my eyes.
Then the lights turned on and he disappeared.
The nurse came in quickly.
She took my pulse and my blood pressure.
Everything was blurry from tears.
I heard the nurse talking to the doctor.
"She was having a night mear." Kelly said.
"How's her breathing?" The doctor asked.
Kelly took her stethoscope and put it on my chest. I jerked away from it being so cold. She told me to stay calm.
So I did.
Harry hadn't woken, Which was a relief, he was so tired.
I heard him taking long breaths.
When the doctor left the nurse stayed by me.
"What time is it?" I asked her.
"It's about 6:00 a.m." Kelly said.
I bit my lip.
"It wasn't just a dream." I said.
Kelly looked at me.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I heard you talking. It wasn't just a dream." I said.
"Honey, I think you were just tir--
"He was there!" I interrupted.
"Who?" She asked.
"Niall. It wasn't a dream. He's been showing up lately. I don't know why, or how, but he's there. When you turned on the lights, he disappeared." I said.
The nurse was again writing something.
"Well, Ryen, I think you've gone through too much. You get to go home today. I would uh.. Let Harry rest the whole day." She said.
I nodded.
At about 8:00 a.m, Harry opened his eyes. I was getting ready to go home.
I had my jeans and shirt on and was almost ready.
"Ryen?" He called.
I smiled and walked over to him.
"Hey." I said.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Great. Never better, you?" I asked.
He nodded as to say the same.
He got up and when we went back to the waiting room, there was a large buzzing noise.
We looked out the window and there was a crowd of screaming fans.
I usually never looked at their fan signs but these ones caught my attention.
I began to smile.
The signs said:
•
'Get better Ryen!'
'I love you'
'Stay strong ry!'
'We love you'
'Don't leave us'
'Don't listen to the haters'
'You make us stay strong'
•
It was special. Harry was smiling to.
"Did you plan this?" I asked.
But he shook his head no.
"That's the fandom. When were happy, they don't wanna take that away. They love you Ryen. And there's gonna be haters. But once you find that one thing that makes you happy, you don't worry so much about what other people think." Harry said.
I smiled.
He held my hand.
"It's why when I found you, I never found a reason to be unhappy with anything else." Harry said.
When we walked out, the paparazzi followed us and crowded us. I expected Harry to run, but he kept walking calmly with me.
He smiled and while everyone was asking questions, he just smiled.
When the paparazzi lost interest in us, we kept walking, while we were talking a little girl about age 9 came up to us.
"Hi, Ryen. My name is Natalie and I wanted you to know that your my favorite person. You inspired me to stop cutting." She said.
I smiled at her.
"I'm glad I could." When she was about to walk away, I heard a gun fire.
It was too quick to notice it was coming at me.
I didn't react. I thought I was dead.
But no.
The girl jumped in front of me.
I began to cry.
"NO!" I cried.
I dropped to my knees.
The paparazzi swarmed their way to us.
Harry quickly picked me up and carried me the rest of the way home.
I cried into his shoulder until I couldn't cry anymore.
I was the reason she stopped her self harm...
Then that stupid bullet went off....
It should've been me.
