I was happy with myself looking around at everyone laying on the ground breathing heavy I did my job and I did it well. In our pack everyone trained starting at 10 years old that way everyone could always protect themselves against rouges. As a gamma it was my role to make sure that everyone was trained and ready. I stood up from sitting as my breathing steadied out looking over to Cole who simply groaned as he felt my gaze. "Please for the love of the goddess D let that be the last thing" he said not even lifting his head up. Laughing at him "Yeah we're done, great job everyone you did amazing". Slowly people left I turned to my dad who was standing next to me when he said as he started to walk away "Great job Princess don't stay out too late remember your mom and I are going away for the weekend". "Yeah don't worry dad I remember" I replied as he walked towards our house. Walking away myself I headed down the path to the beach sitting down on a piece of driftwood I took off my shoes feeling the sand and soft stones under my feet when I felt someone sitting next to me. "What's going on in that head of yours D I know you're planning something" he said in a soft tone. "It's nothing Cole...really" without even looking over at him because I know my eyes would have given me away. Sighing loudly "I know you better than that you know. You know what else you're not the only one who may be thinking of a way out" he stated as if he was telling me about the weather. Shocked I turned meeting his gaze. Smirk forming on his face because mine must have been priceless. "How'd you know..." I said barely above a whisper. At this is he chuckled at me still studying his response this was probably the first time I actually took inventory of Cole's appearance. His chiseled features were nothing short of desirable his shaggy dark brown almost black hair came over his eyes messy from the work out perfectly set off his bright green almost emerald eyes. He towered over me even with us sitting I seemed tiny his 6'5 frame was perfect to say the least his muscled bare chest would have made me blush if I didn't look at him like a sibling almost a twin even. He seemed to be thinking over his response to my question even though he just laughed in my face. "You know you weren't the only one who was disappointed that you didn't find your mate right away....all of us would have killed to have you not just Derek" he replied in his still soft even tone. What was he talking about that's not possible there were plenty of other more beautiful girls in our pack alone. My expression must have given me away again to him because he sighed once more continuing what he was saying. "You really don't see yourself clearly Daniella, but whatever is going on in that head of yours I want in. If you haven't noticed your not the only one still alone." His eyes showed so much sensitivity in that statement that I knew I could at least discuss my thoughts even though I don't know why it took that Cole knew all of my secrets. "I was thinking about setting out on my own. Really soon actually. Don't get me wrong I love our pack I really do and I love my place in it, but there has to be something more including my mate. I can't keep waiting around hoping that by some chance he shows up at my doorstep." As soon as the words left my lips I actually felt better. I didn't know that keeping this all in had been weighing me down. I met his gaze and this time he had a genuine smile saying "I knew you and I would be on the same page." "You really think that they will let us go though Cole. The future beta and gamma just want to up and leave? Derek is going to be pissed even worse our fathers and the alpha." "Well I plan on coming back my place is here. That is unless I meet an alphas daughter" he said with a wink which genuinely made me laugh. "You don't though do you..." this time his voice was barely above a whisper and it had such pain in the statement that it almost made tears come to my eyes. "Honestly, I don't know. I hadn't really thought past packing a bag and setting out." I stated looking down into my hands. I felt his hand lift my chin to look at him again. "Well then it looks like you need me more than I thought." he replied with a smirk. "Did you really think you could just walk out there and show up on other pack lands? Oh D you're a gamma act like one" with that statement he started laughing truly laughing. Dammit he was right. I knew I needed permission to get on other packs land even if it was just passing through. Having a beta on my side especially one as impressive and persuasive as Cole would really be helpful let alone I'd have someone to watch my back while camping if we came across rouges. "We have to go talk to Derek then don't we?" I really didn't want to I stupidly thought that I could just sneak out. "Not before we have a plan first" he said with a wink and standing up offering me his hand.
