I laid out on the grass in the open field taking in the warm summer sun coming up. We'd been with the Golden pack for about 3 days now and even though I had definitely created some beneficial connections as well as shown myself that I had more to offer then I ever thought I did I knew it was time to leave. After that first sparing lesson I had pretty much every one of their warriors doing everything I asked including Josh who was practically tripping over his words which did nothing but make me giggle each time. The pack as a whole had made huge strides in the training department and I was leaving them with a plan in order to keep progressing. I knew that I had to move on though and was struggling with the fact that I knew that Cole wasn't coming with me. I should have known he'd be lucky enough to find her right away and that I was so unlucky to lose him right away. "You look like you are in the deepest thoughts ever" Josh's husky voice stated as I felt him sit down next to me on the ground as I opened my eyes to look at him. "Want to fill me in on what your putting so much effort into? Maybe I can help." "Nah I doubt you could Joshie" I replied with a smile closing my eyes again. "Give it a try I may surprise you...I am an alpha after all I'm pretty good at things" his voice dripping with self loving humor which made me laugh because I knew if my eyes were open he'd be winking. I've actually gotten really close to Josh over the past couple days and it almost really made me wish I was his mate especially with how sweet he was as well as how much he pushed my confidence forward. I rolled over onto my stomach and looked up at him before he laid back so he could make eye contact with me. "I just don't know if I can do this Josh. I mean your pack has been so great...now that I think of it your warriors have given me more respect than my own...."I started looking down at my hands at this point fiddling with grass. "Is that what's got you so worried? That people won't take you seriously....this has never been about finding a mate has it?" "Is it that obvious...?" I grumbled in response. He looked at me with a mixture of humor and you've got to be crazy clearly read on his face "No it's not I'm just amazing" he stated now grinning. I scoffed now tearing the grass in between my fingers. "You have got to start looking at yourself clearly Dani especially when it comes to your abilities. You're going to make an amazing gamma female I'd even offer you the position here if I knew you take it." I met his gaze seeing that he was completely serious "thanks Josh that actually means a lot..." I said pushing myself up to sitting up with my legs crossed now under me now. "It's the truth" he said sitting back up again as he did he cupped the side of my face with his right hand bringing me to look him in the eyes again. "I wouldn't lie to you. You are amazing in every way and I for one wish that there was electricity being felt under my touch right now, but I can't get that lucky can I? Just remember that you can more than stand on your own and you bring a hell of a lot to the table." he finished with his hand dropping down to his side before standing up and offering me help up. As we walked back towards the pack house I thought about what he just said and spun it over in my mind. I've always told you we were destined to be great Alexa proudly stated. Oh quiet I responded to her with a laugh. "Josh?" "Yeah?" we both stopped walking to turn to each other. "Thanks that actually seriously helped a lot and umm were you serious about wanting me here?" he maintained his soft smile replying "Yea, but I don't think you'll end up here". I returned a confused look and he simply laughed softly shaking his head "You Dani are going to be more than just a gamma female I just know it." "Oh yes I'm destined for greatness I forgot" I laughed as we walked into the house towards the kitchen. Cole and Jess were sitting around the large island discussing what to make for breakfast which prompted me to walk over to the fridge and start taking out ingredients to make chocolate chip waffles and bacon. "Ah and this is why we are best friends. See babe D always comes through in the clutch" Cole laughed as Jess and Josh both joined in the laughter her jumping up offering to help.
Where are you? Cole rang through my head as I was packing up my things in my room. In my room I responded before he walked in a few minutes later closing the door softly behind him. "Oh your packing?" he stated sounding slightly sad in the tone of his voice. "Well yeah it's been actually longer than we initially said we were going to be here and I have to move on towards the Bloodmoon Pack." I said with a bit of a shiver throughout my spine thinking to myself maybe I'll just skip them...the Bloodmoon Pack were fierce warriors/trackers and their alpha was supposed to be anything but welcoming. No I wouldn't do that this is the new Daniella fully confident in her abilities not afraid of anything. "Yeah I know, but I guess I didn't really think about this happening this way. Maybe I could just come with you to finish this out?" he stated. I started laughing right in his face at that comment "Ha...no Cole your staying with Jess and making little puppies so I can be the cool aunt who teaches them to kick ass". I met his gaze as I said this watching a huge grin cross his face showing me the Cole I know. "But I could-" was all he got out before I cut him off "No Cole I'm a big girl I'm 18 and I can take care of myself, plus you know Alexa wouldn't let anyone cross her" I said chuckling. No shit I wouldn't she responded. "Well maybe it's just me worrying that this is it you know" his hand rubbing the back of his neck looking down at the ground. "Maybe I worry that I won't see you again after this D." "Didn't I just tell you I need to be to cool aunt? How can I do that if you never see me again?" I smirked looking at him start to laugh. "True you did say that" he replied. I zipped up my last bag looking up at him saying "Now help me load all this crap and I have people to say goodbye to".
