Chapter 1

*Flashback* Natalie's P.O.V July 15

"YOU CAN'T CATCH ME NAT!!!" My friend Krystal giggles.

"OH YES I CAN!! JUST WATCH!" I tell back. I sprint off to get her. We are pretty fast for 6 and 7 year olds.

"I GOT YOU!!" I giggle while tickling Krystal onto her grassy yard. We lay on our backs so we can catch our breath.

"Want race now?" I whisper

"Su...." Krystal is cut off by her dad talking

"Natalie! Krystal! Can you come in for a sec? We need to talk you girls. It's just a quick chat." Bob, Krystal's dad, said but had a bit of a sad tone when he called us.

"Okay daddy!" Krystal says while pulling me up.

"I BET I CAN BEAT YOU!!" Krystal screams

"I DON'T THINK SO!!" I scream back "On a count to 3 we will start okay?" I add

"OKAY! 1,2,3 GO!" Krystal said quickly and sprinted inside

"HEY! YOU CHEATED" I whine but run inside.

When we get inside, both of our moms look like if they cried their eyeballs out and our dads have no emotions on their faces. Krystal and I have no idea what is happening. We sit in the empty chairs that was left for us.

There was an awkward silence until my mom nudges Bob. Bob sighs and says

"Okay this first part is only for Krystal." Krystal seems pretty shocked and scared so I held her hand. She smiled and squeezed my hand.

"Krystal," Bob starts, " umm, I don't how to say this but umm, your mom and I aren't living with each other anymore"

"What do you mean" Krystal stumbles out. She looks like if she is going to cry

"I don't know if you understand this quite yet, but we are divorced now which means we won't live with each other anymore." I practically live in this house and Krystal's parents fight all the time...

"So why I'm saying this is that you need to decide who you are going to live with from now on. You can come back and visit the other person and such. I'll be moving to Connecticut and your mom will stay here so you need to decide now please" Bob interrupts my thoughts. Krystal is crying now. And I start crying too. What if I don't see her anymore?!?!?

"Umm..... I want to go with da..daddy but but I don't want to le..eave Nat" Krystal tries to talk but she is full on crying and I start crying to so I decided to hug Krystal and I hug her real tight

"It's okay baby. I think you should go with your dad and we will make sure you and Natalie keep in touch and try to visit each other" my mom says. I hate my parents so much! I don't want to properly live with them. I stay at Krystal's house on the weekdays and then go home on the weekends but now I have to stay home EVERYDAY!

" I DONT WANT KRYSTAL TO LEAVE!" I scream

" But it's her decision and we will make sure you guys talk to each other" my mom talks quietly

"When are we leaving?" Krystal calms down a bit but still is crying

" The day after your birthday. I know it is soon, but I wanted to make sure you have a nice day before I left cause I wasn't sure you were coming, and now you are so it will be the last day you will see everybody" Bob talks and stands up to hug me and Krystal. I love Bob so much. But how long did they know that Bob was leaving? One thing that hit me that her birthday is tomorrow!! and she is leaving the next day! This is going to be the worst summer ever! My birthday is coming up in a few months and she won't be here? tons of questions flew into my mind. But I know this is the best for Krystal.

*Present day*

That day haunts me every day. I really miss Krystal. I'm glad we are still talking to each other but we haven't really seen each other in person. We Skype each other a lot but now that it is almost senior year we haven't talked much.

Today is Krystal's birthday and it becomes our tradition now to Skype each other on like special occasion. I press the call button and it takes 2 rings before her face shows up on the screen.

"HAPPY 18 BIRTHDAY KRYSTAL! I FREAKING MISS YOU SO MUCH!" I yell into the computer. My parents are at work so it is okay for me to yell around the house haha.

"OMG THANK YOU! I FUCKING MISS YOU TOO! Haha! I see that you still don't like to swear?!???"

"Haha no! So how is your birthday so far?"

" It's good! Wish you were here!!"

"You said that for the past 12 years now We both laugh. "What are your plans for the rest of the day?" I continue, cause I live in California and she is in Connecticut. ITs like 3pm here so 6pm over there. STUPID TIME DIFFERENCE!

"Well, having some few friends over and we are going to party!!

"Sounds fun! I should let you go, my parents will be home soon and guessing so will your guests."

"Haha okay! I'll talk to you soon! BYEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

"Haha bye!" I say and shut my laptop. I cannot believe I'm a senior in high school. I'm 17 soon but the thing is I'm the youngest senior!! I started a year early so I can be in the same grade as Krystal, but probably other reasons too. I open my laptop and start scrolling and start looking at colleges I want to apply at. I realized it's too early in the summer to start looking so I started to go through Twitter and Facebook. That got boring so I plugged in my headphones and started to play Pandora. I click my Cher Loyd station and closed my eyes so I can take a quick nap before my parents come home from work.

OKAY SOO HOW WAS THE FIRST CHAPTER! Oh and sorry bout the cover page! Like half the picture is not showing! I'll post a link on how it looks like in the next chapter. I'll try to update as fast as I can okay?! Okay this first chapter might of been boring but I'll make it up to you!! I'm getting use to this whole writing a book thing lol.
