Part 17

*Astons point of view*

I had a ray of mixed emotions, we’d just admitted our love for each other and I couldn’t be happier that we felt the same way. But something was seriously wrong with Cassie, she’d just fainted and now was being sent for an urgent MRI scan.

‘We need to send you for the MRI scan just to double check your head injury is nothing serious’ the doctor explained

‘Ok…’ she stuttered

‘We’ll take you down in 5 minutes’ he smiled leaving the room again

‘Ast im scared…’ she stuttered tears falling down her face

‘Everythings going to be ok…its just a check’ I said ‘and besides you’ve got me… I’ll be there whenever you need me to’ I smiled kissing her forehead

‘But what if something’s wrong?’

‘If something’s wrong then we’ll fix it….’

‘Its not that easy Ast…’

‘Well lets not think of the worst case scenario…im sure the scan will be clear’ I said trying to convince her everything would be ok

*Knock Knock*

‘Cassie you ready to go down?’ the doctor asked

‘Yeah’ she said looking at me nervously

I watched as they wheeled her down to where the scan was going to be, leaving me in the room alone with my thoughts. What if this really was serious? What if it something showed up on the scan that was major?

‘Excuse me?’ I said to a nurse who’d come in to switch the machine off

‘Is she going to be ok?’ I stuttered, suddenly even more worried about the whole thing

‘We don’t know…the doctors seem worried…but im sure everythings going to be ok…I can come and get you as soon we know the results?’

Yeah…thanks’ I said

Over the next ten minutes I got myself into a state worrying about what the nurse might say showed up on the results. I’d only just told her I loved her, what if something serious ruined everything. As tears began to fall down my face I decided it was best if I went and got some air, standing outside the hospital entrance.

*1 hour later*

‘Mr Merrygold?’ someone asked, standing behind me outside the hospital entrance

‘Its bad isn’t it….?’ I stuttered

‘Its best if you come inside’ she smiled friendly

‘You told me everything is going to be ok…’ I said, tears threatening to choke me but she didn’t reply, just silence ‘Is she going to die…?’ I cried

‘Dr Young has all the facts…please….just come back inside…Cassie needs you’
