"Scarlett!" My mother called me from the kitchen. I hurried out of my room and entered the kitchen.

"Yes?" I asked.

"Aunt Grace and uncle Gabrial have called. They announced that they are going to come over today. I would like you to help me with the food. It's going to be a busy day." She paused. "I have already made pizzas that uncle Gabrial likes. The lemon cake aunt Grace likes is already in the oven. Can you make the pasta, please?" My mother always wants to have more dishes for the guests, so they can choose what they like better.

"Sure." Aunt Grace and uncle Gabrial, also known as G&G, are our most loved visitors. We love them. They are the nicest family members we have. There visits are always fun and cozy. Grace is my mother’s sister, my mother has no other siblings beside her. My father has two brothers and one sister. My father’s siblings don't come over much. We like them too, but G&G are different. G&G always want to help us out if we don’t have enough money to pay Mason's medication. My father’s siblings had also offered to help us, but we never took the money, because they have their own family. But we also had never accepted G&G's offers. My mother is thirty seven and Grace is forty. Grace loves Mason and me. Unfortunately Grace isn't able to have her own children, that's one of the reasons why she likes Mason and me so much.

"She said they will arrive around six." I nodded. "While you make the pasta I will clean the living room. I also have to get the clothes of the drying rack. I believe they are dry, it's sunny outside."

"I will finish soon with the pasta. I could do the clothes." I offered.

"I love you." She blew me a kiss and left the room.

"I love you too." I whispered. But I doubt that she has heard me. She didn't need to hear it, she already knows. Making pasta is one of the easiest things to do. I love cooking, and I love eating so it was a great combination. Since I don't go to school my mother has already learned me to do little things around the house, and cook a few things. I gathered the few ingredients I need and started cooking.

I smiled happily at the pasta I had made. It smells really, really good for such a easy dish. Maybe it is just because I am a little hungry. I left the pasta on the eatable and left the kitchen. When I saw my sunglasses on the table in my room, I doubted if I would get them or not. I love the sun, but I need my glasses for my eyes. I grabbed them and left the house. The drying rack was behind the house, so I had to walk around the house. When I had reached the drying rack, I took the clothes in my hands to check if they are dry. They are. I picked up the basket off the ground which my mother had probably had set there. While I took of the clothes of the rack I am able to feel the heat of the sun burning on my skin. I enjoy the warmth, it gives me a comfortable feeling. All the clothes were almost of the drying rack. The ease that had been embracing my body slowly left my body, because the ease was interrupted by light footsteps. I had the feeling that it was Mason. So I let him surprise me.

I felt one of his hands on my back. His hand is small, light and warm. "Surprise." He said. Like I had expected.

"You got me." My voice sounded surprised and shocked. Mason giggled.
