"Mason!" I  called. I am standing at the door ready to leave, but Mason isn't. And if he isn't soon we will be late for his appointment.

"Scarlett!" Every time I would call his name he would call mine in return. But that is a good thing, that means that he is almost finished. And there he is. He walks around the corner and greets me with his, as always, friendly smile. I don't believe his smile will ever change, I don't think he will be able to even fake a smile. His is so true to life, just like everyone, but his heart is stronger than you would think and that is what makes him special. He is my little buddy, even though I now realize.. Right now, that he has grown. He is taller than he was a few weeks ago.

I felt shivers go over my hands, but I still smiled. Imagining that he is growing and getting older fills my heart with joy. He had already put on his jacket and was looking up at me. His dark, pitch black hair, was falling on his eyes. I am very happy that his hair is growing regularly and not falling of, like it just to a few months ago. His face construction is gorgeous. His jaw is forming, his cheeks are filled up a little, his eyes are lighter than mine, even though he said they are the same as mine, I believe they are not.  I would say his eyes look like my father’s. I laughed out loud, he is going to be a girl magnet someday.

"Why are you laughing?" His eyes were set questioning. He took a breath and breathed out. "Scarlett, I think you told me we have to go!" He raised his voice, but he didn't mean it unkind, he is trying to set up his mature tone.

"You're right." I took his hand and walked together with him outside. The fresh air welcomed us, I am relieved that I don't have to pay for the health that enters me when I am in the woods. I felt joy coming up, which made my lips relieve a smile. With Masons hand in mine, I moved our hands back and forth. He didn't hesitate and played along with me.

"Scarlett, can I play the piano?" I grinned. Why would he ask that now? I have no idea if he can play the piano, we have played together a few times, but that was for fun. So that didn't sound that well, if you understand what I mean. He could play, if he wants, I would help him to get better than me. But I don't know what he wants.

"Sure you can, how so?"

"What if I become an celebrated guitarist?" I laughed, he has probably thought about this before today.

"What if..." What if, I repeated in my head. "Then we could play together. We could make music together. That would be fun, wouldn't it?"

"Yeaaah." The tone of his voice told me he is fascinated about the idea.

"Do you think Dustin works today?" Mason asked me, suddenly switching the subject.

"I don't know." We were walking past the benches that were places for the hospital. I noticed a few teenagers, of my age, sitting and watching our direction. I forced myself not to look up, because the teens, I believe males, give me a bad feeling. Luckily we are very close to the doors of the hospital, I pretended to be in a busy conversation with Mason when I heard footsteps coming closer.

"Are you nervous?" I asked Mason quickly.
