Tower"Audrey?" Her eyes shifted below the lids. She blinked as she came to. She finally opened her eyes to light, for a moment she'd forgotten what had happened.
"How do you feel?" It was Vision that was talking to her. The two were alone.
She raised the still-numb limb. It was metal, it wasn't hers. But she clenched it and released.
"I feel great," she began to regain feeling. Though the actual flesh hurt, it was tolerable. She knew it would get better. "It's wonderful."
She looked at him.
"We modeled it after Bucky's."
"It's beautiful. Do I sleep in it?" she asked with curiosity. He propped the bed up.
"Yes. If you ever want it off, it comes with sharp pain. But we did a good job with repairing tissue and all that."
"I'm very grateful. May I get up?"
"Sure," he helped her stand. She moved the metal hand once more, examining it closely. It was the same metal and design of Bucky's arm.
It began at the wrist bone and there was a small emblem on the top she hadn't noticed before: the HYDRA octopus with a rigid split down the middle.
"It matches your shoulder," he stated, carefully watching her. She looked at the humanoid, deep in the eyes.
"Thank you," it meant a lot to her: the symbolism, the gesture, the thought behind it.
"It was Steve's idea, not mine. We also have a glove for it, so the hand doesn't get scraped or damaged."
He handed her a sleek, black, fingerless glove; she slipped it on.
"Well come out whenever you feel," he went to the door and opened it.
"Vision?" he looked back at her from the doorway. She went to him and hugged him. It was completely out of character for both, unnatural and forced - but the thought was there. "This means a lot to me. I owe you."
"You owe me nothing. It was for your wellbeing," he pulled away, offered another smile and left.
She took another moment to marvel at the splendid hand and entered the main room herself.
