Soldier 0324, Rolf, Audrey had been awoken from her chronological freeze. Her two squadron leaders were there.

"Good morning, Soldier. You're to find the Avenger, Scarlet Witch. She will be at the Starbucks coffee shop in Town Square, New York City. You are to kill her and anyone that gets in your way." The man says.

"Yes sir." She says numbly. Not knowing what she has done or will continue to do. She stands and is aided with her suit, she pulls a gas mask on and the lady leader put a dark red powder around her eyes, for what the soldier didn't know. All she knew was who to kill and where.

Bucky Barnes sat down at the breakfast table. Steve Rogers sat across from him.

"You trust me with this? With SHIELD and the Avengers? In the Tower?" He asked his lifelong friend.

"Bucky I would give my life to you and trust you to protect it." Steve responded whole-heartedly. "The team's warming up to you, too. But Tony will take a while." The team was still unsure with each other. Tony mostly.

Bucky sighed loudly and rubbed his real hand and metal one together.

"What if I don't trust myself?" He asked after a while. Steve looked at him, it wasn't a cold glare nor a kind one. It was just a look.

"You better learn how." He answered finally and stood. Bucky looked at the smooth table, so he wouldn't have to see the hurt in Steve's eyes. "Why didn't you come to find me Buck?" Steve asked from the doorway. He didn't face the other man.

"I didn't know how, Steve. I almost killed you, I killed your best friend's parents. How do you talk to the guy that idolized you after that?" Steve's head dropped.

"You're here now, that's all that matters." Steve said emotionlessly and left.

By now the girl had gotten to Time Square. People stared at her outfit but shrugged it off being that New York was a fashion capital. She found the Starbucks and just as the leader had said, the Scarlet Witch was just ordering a chocolate chip muffin and mocha frappe. The soldier walked quickly and meaningfully to the frailer girl. She took her by surprise and knocked the witch to the floor.

The people were alerted and scared now.

"Stay down." She said tightly, to the people as well as the hero. She rose a gun and fired. But the sorceress had made a shield of sorts with her powers and was unaffected by falling debris. By then, Tony Stark stormed in in a designer suit instead of a metal one. She turned coldly to the playboy.

"Hey, hey. Settle down there." But the girl couldn't have stopped now. She was trained, almost programmed. She rose the gun and shot the billionaire in the shoulder. Her leader's voice echoed in her mind: Kill her and anyone that gets in your way. She rushed him and stunned him with a taser, in the neck. He jolted and fell to the ground.

He hit a silent alarm on his watch.

The girl turned to the witch, now standing. She took her on hand to hand this time. The soldier pinned the smaller girl to the wall by her throat.

Steve and Bucky were on their way now, already suited and five minutes to. They arrived to see Tony, lifeless on the floor, Wanda on the floor at gun point, and terrified citizens.

Steve helped Tony to his feet and leaned him against the wall. Bucky went to the gun bearer. The soldier's back was to him. He touched her arm with his metal one and she turned to him, without lowering the gun from Wanda's forehead.

"Audrey?" He questioned, forgetting the situation. She looked at him, coldly, without emotion. "It's me, Bucky." He said. She didn't change her glare. She turned back to the shaking girl and fired.

But she had used her last bullet on the billionaire's shoulder.

The gun clicked, over and over as she tried to fire, desperate to fulfill her mission. She became angry.

The witch had laughed at her. She took the butt of the pistol and hit the girl in the temple. She fell to the side. Audrey kneeled over her and beat her repeatedly in the head with the gun.

Bucky pulled her body up, off the small girl and fought to restrain her.

She resisted and began to swing at him. She missed, but she never missed. She pulled a knife out and swung, and missed. But she never missed. He hit her in the back of the head and she went limp. He threw her over his shoulder. Steve helped Wanda up and slung her over his shoulder. Tony could walk now and they left the Starbucks without acknowledging the frightened people.

When the team got back to the apartment, Wanda woke up and had gone for the soldier in blind wrath. Tony restricted her while the soldiers took the assassin, Audrey, into another room. They restrained her to the bed. Tony tended his shoulder, it was only skimmed by the bullet.

Steve and Bucky stepped into the corresponding viewing room.

"You know her?"

"Knew her." Bucky says, watching the girl take breaths in.

"How'd you know her?" Steve asks, facing him. Bucky didn't look at him but frowned.

"When you got us out of that HYDRA jail, the first real rescue mission you had, she was there. She was in the experimenting with me. We were lovers during the war. She was in our squadron, I'm surprised you didn't recognize her. She was something."

"Being experimented with someone else is a bond to make you more keen to placing a name to a face."

"She must've been left behind..." Bucky said quietly.

"What're her skills?"

"She has dead aim, she's quick on her legs, and speech too, and she's flexible with plans." Bucky says.

"Was she good?"

"Amazing in bed."

"No you dog! Good at her work!" Steve laughs. Bucky smiles, not yet ready to laugh. He nodded. He turned and went to the door, going into the room. He moved the girl's black t-shirt away from her shoulder. On the out-facing part of her shoulder is the HYDRA squid emblem, tattooed into her skin. Below it is the number: 0324.

He looked at Steve, who bowed his head. She was a winter soldier from HYDRA headquarters. She had been sent to kill an Avenger, she must be good if they forced her to murder a top-dog.

She had woken up and forced her body up and against the restraints.

"Release me!" She yells at him. Bucky took a step back.

"Audrey, it's me. Bucky Barnes."

"I don't know you. Return me to my captain." She said tensed up.

"No. Audrey, HYDRA brainwashed you. They're controlling your thoughts and forcing you to be hostile. It's me, Bucky. Come on, focus on me." He touched the girl's jaw and she ripped away from him.

"Release me!" She yelled at him. "They will come for me! I must kill the Scarlet Witch, or it will be me killed. Let me kill her now or shoot me dead!" She yelled at him. Both men realized how horrible the situation was. Bucky stuck a needle in her vein and injected a sedation, as she resisted. She went under within minutes and Bucky went back to the glass room.

"How do I get her to come back? I came back, how?" He questioned the man.

"I think she's too far gone, Buck. Either let her go back to HYDRA to continue on, or shoot her. There's no good from forcing her to stay alive in this state."

"No. Steve please. You could have killed me. I'm not giving up yet. I need to know what they did to her, and what she's done. I have to." He said, now it was Steve that couldn't look at his friend.

"Fine. But if she goes after one of us again..."

"I won't let her." Bucky said. Steve nodded and went to tell the others.
