After what felt like a long day yesterday, I prepare myself for the day ahead of me. My head is still trying to process everything that happened with Opie, I decided to forget about it all for the time being and focus on the task at hand. "Thank you for coming to help me out!" Gemma says as she greets me. "Oh no problem, it's my pleasure. You need as much help as you can get" I reply with a smile before helping set the table out.
I look up for a moment and see a guy on the other side with the Charming police department, which I have never seen before. "Oh god, you got to be kidding me" I say with a slightly worried but pissed tone. Gemma noticed my sudden change in attitude, "What's wrong sweetheart?" I hear ask as I try and keep focused on the task at hand whilst occasionally looking up at the guy on the table, opposite us. "It's nothing" I sigh as I turn to face Gemma.
"It doesn't seem like nothing. What's going Charlie?" Her tone is serious and concerned. "Fine. There was this guy I dated, he lived in Chicago whilst I was in Atlanta as a lawyer. Things started to get rough and abusive so I ended it and he didn't like it" I decided to keep it long story short. I hear Gemma sigh, when I look back up at her, she gives me the same dead serious expression. "Jesus, talk about this later" That's all Gemma said.
I decide to continue sorting out the rest of the booth as a woman with shortish dark hair approaches the table. "Gemma" Gemma looks up and smiles, "Oh, hey April. Appreciate you coming to help" the woman gives a small smile and then sighs slightly. "No problem. Can I ask you something?" Gemma cocks her head slightly to the side before asking what. "Charlie's band is playing during the fireworks tonight. He wants his dad to come" I remember this woman now, she's the ex to the ex-club member Kyle.
"Oh, shit April. I don't think Clay is gonna go for it" She's right there. "Oh, I wouldn't have asked like this. Me and him understood what went down but my kids. Charlie doesn't know" April pauses for a second before continuing to speak. "It breaks his heart that his dad can't come to no baseball games, no school stuff" I try not to listen in on it all but something like this is going to block out.
"Alright. I will bring it up to Clay" Gemma is still standing with one hand on her hip and leaning on the table. "Aw thank you" "I can't promise anything" Gemma says before focusing back on setting the table up properly. I sigh and walk over to Gemma, "I don't think this is going to be a good idea. I can see something happening before the kid's band performs" I say in a whisper so only me and Gemma can hear it. She turns her head to me and smiles slightly.
"I agree but like I said I can't promise anything. It's down to Clay and the rest of the club" I nod slightly before looking down. "Do you want me to go and ask?" I offer so she can make sure the booth is ready. Gemma shakes her head, "No I will go and do it. Would you mind staying here with the ladies whilst I go and ask?" I nod and smile. "Sure that's fine" She kisses my cheek before walking away. This is going to be bad

Everything was set up and we were just dealing with people that came to the table. I hear Gemma curse and walk away when I look up and turn around I see Bobby and Tig walking past. I don't hear all of what was said other than maybe two parts of the conversation. "You're late Elvis" "Do you have any idea how difficult it is to fit this into a helmet?" I laugh slightly before finishing whatever I started. I begin to think about Opie, I know we were meant to be meeting here and then I was going hang with him and kids for the rest of the afternoon.
"Hey Luann, could you let Gemma know I went to see if Opie is here yet?" I ask which she nods and accepts it. I smile before walking away towards the car park to look for Opie. When I get there, he has just arrived and Jax was waiting on the side for him, "Charlie!" I hear kids squeal in excitement before they are wrapped around my waist. "Hey you two, you okay?" I ask and look down at the pair wrapped around me, they both look up and smile as they nod.
