"Gushie, have we found Sam yet?" Al asked as he fiddled with his handlink.

"Not yet, Admiral!" Gushie called. "We can't get a lock on him! We know he's in the 70's but not where and out link with him is a bit screwy for some reason!"

"That'd be the problem the Doctor's having with this leap," Al said. "Sam might be having problems, too; hopefully not as bad as the Doctor, though. I'll go talk to him again and see if he can recall anything about where he was before Sam leaped in."

"Copy that," Gushie said.

Al hurried back down the hallway. Upon opening the doors, he found the Doctor sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, looking down and lost in thought. When he heard the Waiting Room doors open, he looked up at Al and asked, "Any news on Sam?"

"Not a thing," Al replied with annoyance. "We can't even find him. Something to do with the issues you've been having or whatever and whatever issues Sam could potentially have. Anything new with you?"

"Nothing worse than before," the Doctor murmured, looking down again and rubbing his eyes. "I feel really hot, though, like I'm somewhere else and it's really hot there. I think Sam leaping in didn't completely sever the connexion my mind has with my body and... I don't know....I'm just really tired all of a sudden.... Come back later when you find Sam." With that, he laid down on the floor and closed his eyes.

"No no no!" Al rushed over to him and bended down, trying to shake him awake. "Not now! We need everyone we can get right now! Wake up! Oh, never mind... I'll get you later.... At least we know he's probably somewhere warm- really narrows it down."Al gave up and decided it was better to just leave him to rest. After all, he was pretty sick from this leap and, if he was an alien, his consciousness being in Sam's body must be pretty uncomfortable for him. "Or he's completely crazy and he's imagining the heat," his thoughts continued.

"Nurse?" All called into the hallway and spotted one of the medics from the project.

"Sir?" he asked.

"Keep an eye on the guy in the waiting room," Al instructed. "The leap's been going a bit screwy, especially for him, so make sure nothing worse happens, alright?"

"Yes, sir. Would to like me to inform you if there's any change in his behavior?"

"Yeah, thanks." Before he left to check on the progress in finding Sam, he added, "And have someone run a bio-scan and an x-ray on Sam when you find him. The Doctor said there's something there that isn't human."

"Yes, sir." He paused. "Not human?"

"I'll explain later!" Al called without looking back, on his way to the room in which they controlled the centering of the imaging chamber and the location of Sam in his leaps. "You'll know it when you see it!"

He didn't stick around for any more questions. Instead, he rushed into the room where Gushie was working frantically to find Sam.

"Found him yet?" Al asked.

"Not yet, Admiral!" Gushie replied. "It could take between 10 minutes and an hour, we predict!"

Al sighed in agitation. Where could Sam be? He was tense with concern for his friend. Why was this taking so long? What could have happened in this leap to make it so hard to find him? Was he alright? He really could be anywhere, as the Doctor said he didn't know where he was going. Al left Gushie without another word.

As Sam and the woman (whose name Sam still didn't know) strode into the town, they spotted someone in the distance. It was a little girl, no more than 10 years old, wearing a cute floral dress, the dress being blue and the flowers being white. She had curly brown hair that was tied into two pigtails, and she appeared to have an exceptionally melancholy countenance. They headed toward her.
