Chapter 22: Unravel

"Ang gwapo naman ng asawa ko." Puri niya kay Quinn inaayos ang tie ng asawa. Any minute ay bababa na sila para sa party nito. He chuckled as he snaked his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. He lightly kissed her temple and replied, " And you are extremely beautiful too, wife."

Kinilig naman siya sa tinuran ng asawa. Kahit yung mga simpleng papuri lang nito sa kanya ay kinikilig na siya. She hugged him back and rest her head on his chest. She's sure as hell she can hear the loud beating of his heart and how she wished it was beating for her. Just for her. How she wished Quinn could hear her heart too, beating loudly just for him.

Quinn's arms tightened around her and swayed her. They slow danced to the rhythm of their beating hearts.  She closed her eyes for a while and cherished this moment.

"Can we just stay like this?" Quinn murmured, softly while kissing her hair. She smiled at the thought. "People are waiting for you downstairs. It's rude not to show up especially since you are the celebrant." She murmured back.

"Nah. They're just here for the free foods and drinks." She guffawed at his response. "Now, that is so rude of you, Mister." She freed from him and looked up at him, her perfect trimmed eyebrows arching at him. His eyes is dancing in amusement and he's grinning from ear to ear. "What? I was just stating the obvious."

"They're here because they care for you. They're here because they wanted to celebrate your birthday." She explained while frowning.

"Well yeah, still they're here for the free foods and drinks." He shrugged nonchalantly and a playful smile is evident on his face. "Still, they're here because---" She stopped mid sentence when Quinn grinned at her. She slapped his chest laughingly when she realized he was just playing her. A deep hearty laugh filled their room. She shook her head in amusement as she watched Quinn laughed. He stopped seconds later, eyes still laughing silently.

"Before I forgot, I have something for you." Sabi niya sa asawa makailang sandali. Kumawala muna siya rito at saka kinuha ang regalo dito na nasa ilalim ng dresser niya. "Happy birthday." Sabay abot niya sa bagay nakawrap. "It just actually nothing so fancy." Medyo nahihiya niyang sabi sa asawa.

"Thought the bathroom tour de force was your birthday gift." Quinn teased while unwrapping the gift. Her face went red at the mere mention of bathroom. Quinn laughed at her blushing face.

"Wow." He exclaimed in awe when the gift was finally unwrapped. It was a photograph of a silhouette of a nude woman watching the sunset by the shore. Felicity and her went into into an photo gallery the other day because her friend is a sucker for photo galleries. Then this particular photograph caught her eyes. It was so breathtakingly beautiful. She was no expert " arts but this one is just a perfection. The picture also reminds her of the first time she met Quinn. She smiled at the thought.

"I don't know why, but the picture reminds me of how I met you." She whispered and move closer to him and once again admired the masterpiece.

"Did you like it?" She asked tenderly, smiling up to him. Quinn's free arm wrapped around her and kissed her tenderly on her lips. "I love it. I love it, love. Probably by the far the best birthday gift I've ever had." Sabi nito matapos ang isang makapugtong-hiningang halik nito. She melted in his arms when she saw the sincerity on his face. "I'm glad you like it." She smiled at saka gumanti nang yakap dito. Kumalas muna si Quinn sa pagyakap sa kanya saka maayosna itinago ang kanyang regalo. He said he'll hang the photograph in his office by tomorrow. She loves the idea of having the photograph in his office. It's like a part of her was there too.

"Tara na?" Yaya niya sa asawa nang maisantabi na nito ang photograph. "Thank you, love." He kissed her temple at saka hinawakan ang kanyang kamay at saka magkahawak kamay na bumaba.
