Lost in your voice

Chapter 7

Mei's POV

Over the last couple of years in the leaf village I've had an enjoyable time. My first friend was Sasuke-san since we were the same. He told me about what happened with his clan and why he needs to get revenge. I understand that and I'll help him. Since it was only fair I told him about my clan too. At first he was surprised that I lied in class but after telling him the detail he seemed to understand. Haru-chan also trusts him so that's good.

Me and Naruto talk ever so often (through paper) and sometimes we would go to Ichiraku ramen shop. After he found out that I hadn't tried ramen yet he was determined to make me try it whether I wanted to or not. It was really good though.

I also prefer sweets though. Dango being my favourite. It's so good. Sometimes when papa, I call Kakashi-san that now, goes on missions he leaves me with Anko-chan or Gai-san. When I first met him me and Haru-chan had been scared for life by his massive eyebrows. I still have nightmares.

Haru-chan taught me more on chakra control and my clan's power while papa helped me with ninjutsu. It's a lost cause for genjutsu though. I only know how to escape one.

In the academy we still had  couple of day left until the graduation test. I was here a little early today sine I actually managed to wake up for once. Me and Sasuke-san were in our usual places. He's another person I don't mind talking to. If it were anyone else, I would go back to being selectively mute.

By now the class seemed to be getting full. The usual fangirls were surrounding the desks so Sasuke-san went back to glaring at the window. Poor window, what did it ever do to you? Class was late since sensei wasn't back yet. I think it was Naruto doing another prank.

And my suspicious were correct as he came into the room in ropes. Sensei yelled for a bit until he called us up to review the transformation jutsu. Haru-chan already taught me this one so I should be able to do it.

Up first was the Pink Bitch. Yep I nicknamed everyone. Some included some of the colourful language Haru-chan taught me. She transformed into sensei but I saw that she missed a couple of the minor details. 'Did you see that Sasuke-kun' That banshee's voice will kill people one day. It could end up being more powerful than my clan's voice.

Sasuke-san was next. Obviously he managed to get it correct first time. He is a prodigy. I gave him a light smile as a well done to which he nodded in reply. Naruto's turn was next but blonde bitch and lazy ass kept complaining to him.

When he finally did go up I wish he hadn't. He transformed into an older female version of himself but naked. Clouds covering his.....her........

My poor innocent eyes. I don't know if I can see him in another light anymore. Why you do this.

Once class was over Sasuke-san went outside to the roof so i was about to catch up until the fangirls arrived. I've always hated them. They're sooooo annoying. They only judge people off of their looks. They don't even know most of the people in our class and just end up stereo typing us. Bitches.

''Where do you think you're going, mute'' I resisted the urge to talk back. So many things i could say to these people. I pointed to the stairs indicating that i was going to the roof. Are they thick or something. I'm walking to the stairs so where the fuck do think i'm going. The moon?

''You're probably going there to steal Sasuke-kun from us aren't you'' 

''You can't steal our Sasuke-kun mute''

''He only feels sorry for you''

Do they really think that those kind of insults will make me respond or actually retaliate. Poor Sasuke-san. They treat him like he's their property. 

I started walking around them until the pink bitch blocked my way. ''Hey, we were talking to you freaky mute'' Fight me bitch.

Shoving her out of the way i was about to walk up the stairs until the blonde bitch pulled me back by my hair and grabbed Haru-chan from my arms. My eyes widened and i staggered to a stop. 

''You're thirteen now right mute. I can't believe you still carry around a stuffed animal freak''

''The toy looks stupid too. It looks like it's been patched up way to many times. It makes you look dumber than you already are'' 

Stop. Stop insulting Haru-chan. He didn't even do anything. Don't bring him into this.

''Leave Mei alone'' The cold voice silenced the fangirls. They dropped Haru-chan and blonde bitch let my hair go and ran away with the others. I sighed and went back to grab Haru-chan. Instead Sasuke-san handed me him. ''Thanks'' I whispered loud enough for him to hear. 

''No problem. You could just punch them next time. I know you would. You were probably bad mouthing them off in your head'' He knows me so well. I just nodded as we continued to walk to the roof. 

''You coming over after school to practise again?'' I nodded my head once again. Usually after school on somedays I would come over because he had a piano in his house. Haru-chan had once gone over to where my clan grounds used to be and found some old music I could use.

Some would just be to preform and some could be used for battle. For example there were some songs that could make people really sleepy or some that could drive one insane and then the user could control their opponent. I know that Onee-chan had been able to do that but i'm not sure about Onii-chan.

Most of the time only Haru-chan listens to my music since he teaches me but after Sasuke-san overheard me practising he said he would help since his mother had once played the piano.

The bell suddenly rang indicating that break was over. More class.

''You can talk now. There's no one else here''

I nodded as Haru-chan came out of the bunny and into his human form.

''You gonna play that new one that Haru found from your clan?''

''Yeah, it's decent enough'' I replied. My voice was a little quiet after not being used all day.

I made my way over to the piano and took out one of my scrolls. Usually I keep two scrolls one me. One for my music and the other for extra instruments. So far in my collection I have a piano, a violin, a guitar, drum kit, flute, trumpet, trombone and cello.

I unclosed the lid over the keys and put the music onto the stand ready to play.

*Play music*

''That was great Mei. You're getting better'' Haru-chan praised. Sasuke -san was smiling at me to tell me I did well. Sure I was selectively mute but he wasn't. I'm contemplating getting him a dictionary for his birthday. So far most of his vocabulary choices grumbling or 'Hn' ing and that's not even a word. I worry sometimes.

''I should get back now. Dad should be back from his mission now and we do have the exams coming up soon. Thanks for letting me use the piano Sasuke-san'' I said and gave him a closed eye smile.

He nodded and just went off to do his own thing. Haru-chan went back to being a motionless stuffed bunny and I walked out ready to greet Kakashi-san for training.
