To give a small description, the story might switch views between Ella and Noah so that's why I'm labeling the chapters with Her or Him.
Looking at the flowers on her fresh grave, I still couldn't believe she was gone. Mom had been fighting ovarian cancer for three years, and she lost the war. She was such a strong woman through it all. I couldn't catch the tears fast enough, so I just let them run. I thought I had prepared myself enough for this day, but no amount of years could help.
Never would she see me graduate. Or take pictures of my senior prom. Help me pack for college. Pick out a wedding dress. Play with grandchildren, grow old. She was too young. I am too young to lose a mom. Thirty-five is too young to die, and seventeen is too young to be motherless. I'm just becoming a woman, and now I don't have anyone to guide me.
I look up to the stormy sky as I feel a raindrop plop on my forehead. Mom loved the rain, and storms. She said it made her feel closer to the earth and sky. I muster a smile, telling myself she's not in pain, and dancing in the rain, feeling closer to the earth and sky than she's ever felt. A bolt of lightning lights up the sky, and it starts pouring down.
I kiss my pointer and middle finger tips and touch the dirt in front of me. Wiping my tears away, I slowly walk back to my car. Turning on the ignition, I take one last look across the field as a single tear rolls down my cheek. I put the car in drive, and leave my mothers body alone in the storm.

Sorry if this is stupid and I'll always leave my comments at the end so you can just hop right on in the story! Thank you!!
