Meaning: The Mysterious Man In Japanese

Elena's POV

"Elena!" Nana's voice startled me. I turned around to find her hands on her knees.

"Sorry Nana, it's just that...," My voice drifted off.

"What do I always say about wandering off to other places without telling me?!" Nana said in frustration. I smiled a frantic one, hoping she would forget about it.

I looked around Nana, wondering where Cheyenne was. I was about to open my mouth to ask when "Here! I'm here!" Cheyenne was running towards me, but with a strange man by her side.

"Uh, hey....who's that?" I asked, tilting my head.

"Oh, my name is,"--but he was cut off by Cheyenne. "His name is, uh...Nnnnniiiiicccooo....lllaas! Nicolas!"

"Oh, alright. Hello there, Nicolas." I said, reaching out my hand. I swore he looked familiar somehow.

I couldn't describe how he looked familiar. His hair was kind of messy yet nice looking. He was wearing sunglasses, a brown coat, and he was very skinny.

The weird thing was, he was talking in English, not Japanese. I felt a little awkward because he just stood there and smiled at me. I cleared my throat and continued to wait until he shook my hand back. I glanced over at Cheyenne and tried signaling her, but I guess she didn't notice.

Suddenly, Cheyenne began whispering to him. I couldn't tell what she was talking to him about. I inched in and tried listening, nothing. Cheyenne then backed out. Nicolas looked startled.

"Ah! Sorry, sorry." Nicolas said, bowing repeatedly. I've got to say, his English was strange.

"Oh, it's alright," I said, but I wasn't too sure.

After the awkward introduction, I couldn't help but notice how Cheyenne was smiling the whole time. She looked so happy, it kind of freaked me out. She kept on stealing glances to look at Nicolas which freaked me out even more.

"Uh, Cheyenne?" I whispered.

Cheyenne turned her head to me. She asked what I wanted; time to ask.

"Why does Nicolas look so familiar, and why do you keep looking at him? Don't think I didn't notice. What's going on?"

"Sorry, it's nothing really....,"

"Really? C'mon Cheyenne, I can tell you're lying!"

"Fine....he's...,"

Cheyenne looked around. It was like she was undercover. Then she looked at me in the eyes.

"It's V!" She squealed.

"What....?"
