Meaning: What Hope Can Do In Japanese
Elena's POV
No one screamed, but we all wanted to as the blood spilled out and splashes on the floor. Tae-Hyung's body collapsed and Cheyenne shook violently as she caught him falling.
"Tae-Hyung! Tae-Hyung!! KIM TAE-HYUNG!" Cheyenne exclaimed, trying to not shake V while he lay still in her arms. He was breathing in a slow, shallow way. Cheyenne held his hand and tears flowed from her eyes. "His hand's getting cold...," She said quietly, like a whisper.
I was frozen in that moment, but my head whipped around to the cackling of someone's familiar voice.
Standing at the top of the stairs was Tang, holding out his pistol. The smoke wafting from the hole.
"Elena!!" I heard my name and looked over to find Jungkook rushing in front of me protectively. It made my heart melt, and I felt guilty then.
I still spotted Tang who's eyes narrowed and then grew so large I thought they would pop out. He made a disgusted, horrifying face at Jungkook and me.
"You chose that bastard...," Tang said through gritted teeth. "Over....me...?!" He scowled, his head looking like it would explode. The gun aimed at us, and he pulled the trigger.
Jungkook shouted something Korean to me, which most likely said 'watch out!' and pushed me aside and onto the floor.
"Dammit!" Tang cursed and then darted his gun toward us again.
"Tch...!" Suga covered us before the bullet hit, a large iron shield was what he held. I didn't even question where he got that. "Go!" He yelled.
The rest of the members, I saw, hid behind the large pillars. Cheyenne had hidden too, still holding Tae-Hyung as Tang continued to shoot.
Thankfully, Suga held his ground and we made our way behind a near pillar ourselves, though Suga had to sneak to another pillar because he barely fit. I felt myself crying. I hurriedly wiped the falling tears, turning away. Stop! Stop! Stop!
"Elena," Jugkook's soothing voice made me pause. His hand was on my shoulder. He turned me around, seeing my eyes, all full of shameful drops of water. But his face remained the same. As I looked into his pupils, my heart paced. He emanated something so strongly; hope. "It's okay." He whispered, with that stupid cute accent, pulling me into a hug and patting my back gently. "It's okay...," He breathed, but a sense of hesitation followed.
He was scared too. I cloaked my own arms around him and touched his perfect back, digging my face into his shoulder.
"Found you!" Tang exclaimed.
That was it. I hated Tang. I hated him so much. For hurting Jungkook, hurting Tae-Hyung, and everyone else. For making them suffer more than what they already had.
I let go of Jungkook and instead, wrapped my whole body around him this time, acting as an obstacle. I stared deeply into Tang's eyes, unafraid.
"Take me, Tang. We'll escape, go somewhere else. I promise to not run away, promise to not fight. Just...let everyone else go." I said softly.
Tang smiled. "That's a good girl." He said, lowering his gun and starting towards me.
I charged directly at him and grabbed his gun, easily snatching it. Tang grew angry, and at an alarming pace, he ran at me as I ran to the doors. I felt him gaining on me, reaching for my arm to pull.
I thought of Jungkook, then I thought of me. I wanted to live, not die. Please, let me live!
And I pushed those doors open.
