Chapter 8 (Re-Written)

~~~
Me: If you want forgiveness, you're not getting any.
Alex: Oh, come on. Don't be such a party pooper. It was a joke.
Me: Didn't seem like it. You're lucky I'm still replying to your messages.
Alex: Fine. I didn't mean it. You should know that I was only getting under your skin.
Me: I'm out. Goodbye.
Alex: See you soon, Annie.
I rolled my eyes and shut the TV. The movie had already ended, and I didn't want to watch the next movie, which was a chick flick. Even though it was still around nine, I decided that I should just go to sleep.
I made my way to my bedroom, whistling for Puppy Alex to come along. I crawled under my covers, while Alex made himself comfortable in his dog bed. In a few minutes, I fell into a dreamless sleep.
Well, it wasn't actually that empty. I kept hearing voices. Voices that kept on repeating, "See you soon, Annie."
~~~

I woke up the following day with a pounding headache. I rolled to my side and looked at my alarm clock. The face glowed 5:57 in bright red numbers, making me groan. I slithered like a serpent off my bed, and along with my covers, I fell into a heap of tangled mess onto my floor. I pressed my temple on the cool floor, slightly easing the pain for a short moment.

See you soon.

Those words rang over my head once again as if the repetition of those words in my dream wasn't enough. The more I try not to give any meaning towards those words, the more I actually overthink about it. It was boggling me to highest level.

I groaned once again and started rolling around the floor. Puppy Alex caught sight of me from his doggy bed. He hopped off and made his way towards me. He laid on his belly and also started rolling on the floor like I did.

When I started feeling dizzy and nauseous, I stopped and tried to get up. Except...

All the rolling I did had me twisted in my covers like a burrito.

~~~
A few minutes later of twisting, rolling, grunting, screaming in frustration, I finally got myself loose and began preparing for the day. I fed Puppy Alex, took a bath, brushed my teeth, put on my school uniform, and went to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast. The latter wouldn't have been so difficult, until I faced an atrocity that laid within my fridge.
Nothing.
How on earth did I forget to go shopping for groceries this week?
Oh, right. Alex.
I can already hear my mother's disapproving and disappointed voice for being an irresponsible daughter. You forgot to buy groceries because of a boy? You might be also neglecting your studies because of that boy. What am I working so hard for here then if you won't do your part there in America?
"Yep, exact words I'm sure," I sighed to myself. I had no other choice but to buy instant food in a convenience store. Luckily there was one on the way to school, and they actually sell some good steamed buns. I probably have no time to hang out with my friends later after school since I have to stock up my fridge. Too bad. Belle was actually offering to hang out at her place later to watch some movies.
