Chapter 2 (Re-written)

I decided to not reply to his message and just ignore it. I continued to browse through countless websites, but I found myself glancing back at my phone repeatedly. Then it got to the point where I can no longer keep my eyes on the computer screen, and I just stared at my phone. I felt like my phone was taunting me. Even if I did reply a message of thanks to Alex, who knows what he might do after?

Still, I carefully grabbed my phone and typed in my reply.

Me: Thanks. :)

I was practically sweating by the time I sent my reply. I placed my phone on the computer desk and wiped my sweaty hands. My eyes quickly glanced at the time. It was an hour after he sent his message. I doubt he was going to reply.

Buzz!

I jumped in my seat and quickly opened the message. Then I caught myself. What the hell was I doing? I was acting like I haven't matured since the last time I saw him. Since the last time I saw him, and he hugged me. I need another slap. A bigger slap.

Alex: I thought you weren't going to reply. I was beginning to think you're still mad at me even though we had that truce.

Me: It's been a year. Don't worry, I got over it.

Alex: How's your birthday so far?

Me: It's past 12. My birthday is already over.

Alex: If you replied earlier, I would've given you a surprise.

Me: I love surprises. I think a belated birthday gift is in order.

Alex: You probably won't like it. You'll reject it.

Me: What it is? I won't reject it if I like it.

Alex: It's a surprise. You just have to promise you'll accept it.

Me: Want what?!

Alex: Accept it first.

Me: For all I know, you might send me drugs.

Alex: I can assure you that it's nothing illegal, and I won't spend money for it. I'm broke. :(

I had to roll my eyes at that. Trust Alex to not really think things through.

Me: Fine fine. I accept whatever your present is. It's probably something gross.

Alex: My kiss isn't gross.

Huh? I read the latest message over and over, trying to figure out what he meant. His kiss? Did he mean? Oh...

Me: No, thanks. I'm good.

Alex: You know you want to. ;)

Me: Actually, I don't. I really don't. I'm not giving my first kiss to the likes of you.

Alex: Lmfao. You haven't kissed anyone?

Me: I'm fifteen, you idiot.

Alex: What does age have to do with anything?

Me: Uhh, I'm too young for that sort of thing? Duh.

Alex: Oh please, you're such a prude. I had my first kiss when I was twelve for goodness' sakes.

I frowned at that statement. Either it was the fact that he called me a prude or the fact that he could just give off something that special so easily. Then I remembered... Boys.

Me: Really? Why'd you do it? Did you like her?

Alex: Curious, aren't we? :D No, I didn't like her. She was my classmate back in kindergarten, and my cousins dared me to kiss her. Of course, I was man enough to kiss her. How about you? Do you have the guts to accept a very precious gift?

Alex was taunting me. I knew Alex. He was taunting me to accept. I'm not falling for it. From the way he disgustingly described his "gift", there was no way I was going to let that idiot have my first kiss.

Me: You don't even like me that way. For all I know, you might have a girlfriend.

Alex: A guy doesn't have to like a girl to be able to kiss her. And if you really must know, no, I don't have a girlfriend.

Me: You probably like someone else.

Alex: Well, yeah. I'm a guy.

Anger started to bubble up in me. He likes someone else, and he's still crazy enough to do this. I definitely think he's just messing with me. This is just stupid.

Me: Piss off, Alex.

Alex: Tsk tsk. Rejecting a gift, not woman enough to kiss a guy, and putting so much meaning in a single kiss. I didn't even state where I would kiss you. I can smell a cowardly chicken from here. You probably still have feelings for me, don't you?

I didn't know what happened next. I just snapped.

Me: FINE! Is that how you wanna play, idiot?! So be it!

"Shit, shit, shit!" I cursed, desperately trying to cancel the sending message.

Message sent.

"Eat me alive, Spirits of Cake Land," I sighed, slamming my head on the computer desk. To make things worse, my forehead banged on the keyboard. "Ow," I yelped, rubbing my sore forehead.

Alex: That settles it. Good night, darling. Don't blame me. I did warn you from the beginning. :*
