Elena's POV

Darkness.

So much darkness.

That's all I could see.

That's all I could feel.

I've never felt so much darkness surround me before. It's like it's suffocating me.

I try to find any source of light but I can't. I don't know where I am.

I start running but I don't know where too. The only thing I can hear is my heavy breathing and my feet hitting the ground. My feet keep moving.

All of a sudden I see a speckle of light.

I run to it.

My legs are burning but I push past it so I could get to the light and out of this dark abyss. I can see the speckle of light grow more and more as I run faster and faster.

The light is so bright; it feels like I'm staring into the sun. I keep running but right as I'm about to reach the light something dark, something powerful stops me.

I feel like I'm frozen. I'm standing in front of the light.

I can feel the warmth of it radiating onto my damp and cold skin.

Then I'm dragged away from the soothing bright light.

Back into the dark abyss.

Beep beep beep

I sit up startled from the dream I had awoken from. I'm breathing heavy as if I had just run a marathon.

I'm sweating all over my body. I take a few more deep breaths to calm my nerves.

Once I've calmed down I turn and shut my phone's alarm off. For once I'm glad I had to work today.

If I didn't, who knows how long I would've been dreaming. I get up and go to my bathroom so I can take a shower. I turn the faucet on and let the water warm up. I strip myself of my clothing and turn to look at myself in the mirror.

I look at my pale skin it's paler than normal; my black hair is in clumps from my sweat, and lastly my face. It looks slightly dull.

My green eyes aren't bright like the usually are; they've lost some life to them. Maybe after I take a shower I'll feel better. Hopefully I'll look better.

I step into the shower, turn the valve the other way and let the cold water cool me off. Once I've gotten enough I turn the water up so it's warm.

While I'm standing under the shower head I think about the dream I had. What the hell was that? I've never felt anything so dark before.

It felt like I was trapped. I had no idea where I was.

Thinking of the strong force that pulled me away made me shiver under the warm water. The strong force made me feel weak, powerless.

Why did I have that dream? I've never dreamt something like that before. Hopefully I never have that dream again.

I heard someone knocking on my bathroom door, disrupting my thoughts.

"Hey don't use all the hot water!" My roommate Sarah yelled from the other side of the door. She always says that to me. I used all the hot water one time and I've never heard the end of it.
