The pair began walking, Yoongi with his camera in hand, eyes taking in everything in his field of vision. He didn't know what to look at– whether it be the distinctive works of art up for view or the decorative flower patches scattered about, everything was just too alluring to his sight. He found himself circling around, his head whipping in different directions as more and more attractions popped up left and right. Within two minutes, he had taken too many pictures to count off the top of his head.
The two were silent as they sauntered. Jimin just observed Yoongi's actions, finding his wonderstruck attitude towards it all to be immensely captivating. His eyes never left the boy as the smile on his face grew every time he snapped a picture. He wondered just how much Yoongi hadn't seen in the world and how much he could show him in the time being.
"You seem to be enjoying this a lot." Jimin commented just as Yoongi had put his camera down after taking a picture of the landscape of the city.
"Yeah." He replied simply, spotting something else to capture and bringing the camera back up to his face.
He didn't think that answer was enough. "Why?" He questioned, nudging his side and encouraging him to explain.
"What isn't there to like about this place?" Yoongi responded, glancing at the other before turning away again. "It just amazes me that there are probably a million other hidden gems like this all over, and I've never even thought they'd exist." He paused, scrunching up his nose. "Then again, I'm not one who gets out as much as I should."
"Why don't you?" Jimin further pressed, furrowing his eyebrows.
Yoongi thought about it for a moment, already knowing the answer. "Simply because I have no one to go out with, and going out by yourself anywhere is pretty lonely."
Jimin smirked, shaking his head. "But you were about to come explore the city by yourself before I showed up."
His eyes widened, realization setting in. "Ah, I guess you're right." He sighed. "I guess I decided I should take myself on a little adventure, do something I usually wouldn't."
"So you decided to go out by yourself even if you'd be lonely?"
"Hm, yeah, I guess. I figured since I just moved into a new apartment that I'd start from the beginning and become more independent. I convinced myself that it wouldn't be as bad as I was making it out to be."
"You really are new to the city, huh."
Yoongi nodded, biting his lip.
"Well then I'm honored to be your tour guide on this lovely fine day and I'm glad I'm making you just a teensy bit less lonely. You don't mind not being completely independent yet right?" Jimin smiled cheekily, Yoongi nodding once again. "Onward we go, to one of the most amazing shaved ice places around."
"We're leaving the sky walk already?"
"No, of course not. You'll see."
"Hm, okay then. Lead the way, city boy." Yoongi cracked a smile, motioning for the boy to go forward.
"City boy?" Jimin laughed, continuing to walk in the direction the two were already going. "It's just a bit farther up ahead, do you see that?" He pointed to a roof connected to the skywalk. Yoongi nodded.
"Thank you."
"For what? I haven't even bought your food yet, you're supposed to thank me later and let me woo you over."
Yoongi gnawed at the inside of his cheeks to keep from smiling. "Just thank you, okay? I felt like it needed to be said."
"Sure, really, no problem."
It didn't take much longer for the two to reach the huge gazebo-like structure. There were a bunch of tables sprawled out along with a small souvenir stand, the shaved ice place Jimin was talking about and a parked food truck.
"How did they get that up here?" Yoongi questioned, pointing at the truck and furrowing his eyebrows.
"Don't ask me, ask... science?"
"Science is not one of my best subjects." He laughed.
"Then what subject is?"
"Music."
"Does that count?"
"Of course it does, it's just as important as any other subject. What subject are you best at?" Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows.
"Music."
"See?" He exasperated.
"I just wanted to see how you'd react." He grinned, nudging his side and getting in line for the shaved ice. "What flavor do you want?"
"You don't have to worry about it, I can pay for it myself." Yoongi stood in line next to him, shaking his head.
"I asked what flavor you wanted, not if I cared whether or not you wanted to pay." Jimin rolled his eyes, pulling out his wallet.
"No seriously–" Yoongi thought about him singing on the subway for tips, wondering if he really needed that money. If anything, Yoongi wanted to pay for him.
"Don't fight me on this or I'll push you off the platform into the street." Jimin teased.
"Note to self, Park Jimin is stubborn." He groaned in defeat.
"Keeping track of me now, hm?"
"I–"
"What flavor do you want?" He repeated, the two next in line.
"Surprise me."
"Hm, alright. Go grab us a seat." Yoongi nodded before stepping away, looking around for a table to sit at. Once he spotted one, he claimed it as theirs and sat down, waiting for Jimin to come over.
Pulling out his phone, he saw that he had a couple message notifications. Hoseok and Taehyung had added him to a group chat.
Hoseok: how's the city going hyung
Taehyung: we shouldn't bother him while he's out, let's wait till he gets back to do that
Hoseok: spot any cute babes yet
Taehyung: Hobi come play this game with me
Yoongi caught himself smiling, happy to be included. He decided not to answer and put his phone away, not wanting to get too distracted by it. A couple moments later, Jimin appeared, plopping down in the chair across from him.
"You're all smiley." Jimin commented, handing him a cup of red colored shaved ice. "I got you Tiger's Blood."
"Thank you. May the wooing commence." He chuckled. "What did you get?"
"Blue raspberry. Wanna try?" Jimin held his spoon out with a bit on it. Yoongi tried not to think much of it and let Jimin feed him.
Yoongi's eyes widened as his mouth began to freeze before he squeezed them shut. Brain freeze.
"Oh yeah, forgot to mention to brace yourself."
"Wow, much appreciated." Yoongi muttered after he swallowed, opening his eyes before taking a spoonful of his own shaved ice and preparing himself. He took the bite, it being less of a pain this time. "This is really good though."
"Hey, you didn't offer to let me try yours." Jimin complained, glaring at him playfully.
"Why, is it part of your plan to woo me?" Yoongi smirked, taking another spoonful and holding it out for the younger.
"No, I'm just greedy." He smiled, eating off Yoongi's spoon.
"Note to self, Park Jimin is greedy."
