Chapter 13
Later...
Riker POV
"Dude, calm down. What's the worst that could happen?" Rocky asked.
"They could say no, and I could be stuck here going to this awful school. I would have awful stomachaches, and throw up, and be miserable every single day."
"Alright, well at least you're not dead."
"Can you not say that?"
There was a knock on our door, and Rocky opened it. It was mom. My heart started racing. She wasn't showing any expression that told me what the answer was.
"SO!?" I asked, bouncing up and down on my bed slightly.
"We're flying to Ohio tomorrow."
"YES! Thank you so much!"
I jumped up, and hugged mom tightly.
"We're leaving right after everyone gets home from school. So I would suggest packing tonight."
"How much? For the weekend, or to stay at Dalton forever!?"
"For the weekend. They probably need time to make a decision, and we would need to fly back and sign papers. And you would also need to clean out your locker from school."
"Fine..."
Mom left. I jumped up and down.
"I get to audition!" I shouted, making Rocky cover his ears.
"Ok, I get it. Enough shouting. You're so loud."
"Sorry," I said, giggling.
I felt like the anxiety left my body. I finally get a chance to not be so scared all the time.
The next day...
Riker POV
I was shaking in my seat. People keep scaring me on purpose, and I hate it!
My stomach was hurting so badly. I just wanted the day to be over so I could go do my audition. I called Dalton and stuff, and they set up a time for my audition, which was 9:30 tonight.
I literally couldn't take it anymore. I was in lunch right now. I packed up my stuff, and walked to the nurse. I literally can't focus on anything else but the pain in my stomach.
I signed in to the nurse, and told one of the nurses I had a bad stomachache. They told me to go lay down for a little bit.
I laid down, and wrapped my arms around my stomach. I turned on my side, and curled up. I closed my eyes, trying to relax. I know the only reason I have a stomachache is because I'm still all freaked out and stuff.
But I couldn't really get my mind off of it. I was just thinking about how I really need to nail this audition so I never have to come back here.
The plan was to arrive in Ohio around 6:30 or maybe 7:00. And then I'd rehearse with the Warblers a bit, have dinner, and then do my audition.
"Riker, how are you feeling?" One of the nurses asked.
"Not good," I said, tensing up more.
"Do you want me to call your mom to come pick you up?"
"Yes, please..."
"Alright, I'll call her."
I knew mom would be annoyed with me for going to the nurse so much, but I can't help my nerves!
