"I ain't mean for this to happen." He rubbed at the side of his face.

I tilted my head to see how bad it looked. He had a red handprint planted on his face.

"I can't believe you thought this was okay, did you even think about how I would've felt?" She sniffed.

Seeing that she was growing emotional, I quickly took a seat by her side.

"Momma don't stress it, atleast his back." She shook her head no as I rubbed her back.

Bryson walked over to Lucas with a ball in his hand.

She wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks. "You left your entire family, and you missed what was supposed to be the happiest moments of your life."

"Not only did you leave me but you left that girl too,   do you know what she's going through? Her family disowned her because of you." She harshly pointed her fingers into his face.

He sighed while sliding down more into his seat. Practically ignoring focusing his attention onto Bryson.

"Come here Bry, do you want some candy?" I asked while digging through my purse. The way he was looking at him was causing me to grow uncomfortable.

He shook his head no and began tugging on Lucas pants.

I looked up at him seeing what his facial expression was. But there was nothing he was no longer staring down at him. Instead he was staring at the wall left in deep thought.

"Jasmine take him upstairs for a minute."

I nodded and got up from my seat. There was no need to question why when I already now the reason.

"Come on."  I bent over and picked Bry up placing him onto my hip. "Nooooo." He cried while reaching for Lucas.

Lucas looked up from the corner of his eye and scrunched up his face.

"Who baby is that?"

"He's your nephew." My mother let them him know.
He shook his head and laughed. "I should've known."

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"Go upstairs." I sucked my teeth and stomped up the stairs.

Lucas

"Where have you been?" She asked while folding her hands together. Seating them in her lap.

Letting me know that she was fighting the urge to hit me.

"New York."

As she nodded her head I watched the tears fall from her eyes. I hate seeing her cry, it makes me feel bad. Knowing that I caused this only makes me feel worst.

"Y-you could've atleast called to inform me. Had me thinking I lost my only son."

"Running away from that boy, was the stupidest thing you've ever done. Now he has everyone in the city thinking your a punk. I ain't raise you to be no little bitch!"

"I ain't no punk!" I yelled back.

She reached over and grabbed the lamp off of the side table. "You don't want me to use this do you?"

I stayed silent.

"That's what I thought." She barked back

"Have you seen her?

I nodded while placing my elbows onto my leg with my fist holding up my face.

"For the second and last time."

"What you mean?" She asked with confusion in her voice.

"If it wasn't Troy I wouldn't have even saw her in the first place. He went against Yn and brought me to see her in the hospital."

The fact that my friend gets to see my child and not me hurts. It's crazy because he knows more about her than me.

I'ont even know her birthday and that's said to say.

"The hospital? See this is the reason why you need to be down here. She clearly isn't fit to be a mother.
She already let them guys touch on her and now she ends up in the hospital."

I quickly shot my head up and looked at her

"I'm not surprised she probably was raped ." My mother went on.

"What? Nah that ain't true Yns not that type of girl."

"Thats what we all thought but Jasmine told Yazz confirmed."

I sucked my teeth trying to keep myself from believing what she just said. The type of girl she's described is the type of girl Yn vowed to never be. But maybe she had a huge downfall when I left.
