Aria was a lot of things. But she wasn't stupid. She knew something was off about Derek Hale the minute she met him. And yet he was just so intriguing. The minute she laid eyes on him she was taken in, and before she knew it, she was falling in love.
And that terrified her.
She had been hurt so badly before by someone she thought would be hers forever, and the thought of going through that again made her sick to her stomach. But she couldn't seem to let go of the man. He was just so closed off, it made her want to know more about him. Want to get close to him, be his. No matter how scary it was.

Before Derek came along, if a guy so much as tried to look at Aria, she was in no way interested. After her harsh break up, she honestly felt like she would never feel the same way about anyone ever again. No drama intended.
But with Derek it was different. Everything about him made her want to get closer to him. She wanted to break through that tough exterior and get to know the real Derek Hale. And she intended to do just that. Just one step at a time.

The way Aria felt when she was Derek...it was something she didn't even knew existed. You know the phrase, butterflies in my stomach? Try about a million different kind of animals, stomping, pounding, screeching in excitement. It wasn't exactly easy trying to contain them either, but she managed.
In complete honesty, she didn't know how much she missed this feeling until now. But now that had it back, she never wanted to let it go.

Derek didn't just make Aria's heart flutter. He didn't just turn her stomach inside out and make her weak in the knees, oh no. He made her feel so much lust. So much passion.
She found it amazing that as tough and as burly as this man seemed, his touches were always so careful, so gentle and sweet. The way her hands felt in his, the feeling the stubble on his chin gently scratching her own, the softness of his lips on hers. It was all so surreal. She was no longer the scared, shut down girl she once was. She was a woman in love.
