Victor's POV
I was playing the organ on the piano in my secret place but it was actually under my father's Opera House. They say it was haunted by a ghost named 'Phantom of The Opera' but it was just only a man...who is deformed...just like me. I saw white masks in a closet as I tried one on and it actually fit perfectly.
As I roam around some stuff I saw the Phantom's diary its cover were worn down and pages were dusty and old but the words were in such good condition. I remembered one I was so intrigued to read it :
Nov. 27,1895
My beloved Christine made her debut today as Elisa in Act III in Hannibal. Her voice was angelic and unearthly just we practiced every night at the Chapel.
I waited for my Christine to go to my lair but she never came. There she was hugging a handsome boy in the Primadonna room. He said that he was the one who fetched her scarf out of the sea which made my Christi smiled. I was extremely jealous.
After he left, I confronted Christine about him but she was sorry. I accepted her apology and we went to my lair. After we we're done, she was about to go back to her world of light from my unending darkness. She suddenly kissed me on the cheek and said sorry about earlier.
I was overjoyed by the kiss yet that boy always disturb my mind...
I was now tired from reading and began to write more music. As I was in a state of concentration doing my music, a large clanking sound made me extremely furious. I always keep my temper in school but at home it's different yet I find ways to calm myself.
I turn around I saw a girl on the floor as I began to walk to her she crawl backwards but she fell on the river - but I caught her arm yet she fainted.
I carried her in my arms yet I can't see in the darkness that much I laid her down on the swan bed. I decided to lit all the candles in the lair. After lightening up all the candles I realized my lair was very large and the lake was visible that I see some fish swimming about.
I walked to the bed when my breath left my body - it was Maria! Her chocolate brown curls spreading around her head, her pale skin and those pink and beautiful lips makes her so much like a goddess. I thought it was some ordinary and curious girl roaming around under the Opera Garnier - it was actually Maria! I even planned to hit her for tresspassing but I felt pity instead of anger.
Sudddnly I saw some dried blood on her forehead after examining it I tended to it carefully so she wouldn't wake up. I also fetched a blanket for her to be kept warm.
I began to caress her cheeks lightly when a whisper came from her mouth "Victor...Victor...I...love...you" She say in her sleep. She really loves me after all this time. I took her hand and lightly kissed it.
"Victor! Don't leave me! Please! I beg of you! Please!" She say suddenly I her sleep which made my heart broke in pieces.
I lightly cry beside her as she slept. I decided to sing her a sweet song...
Maria's Dream
I woke up in the same room yet in different clothes. I was wearing a white robe underneath is a white corset, white slip, white stockings and white ballet shoes. Where am I? I thought.
Suddenly I saw black curtains around me and unearthly music as the curious girl that I am I pushed away the curtains and began to walk towards the source. But instead of darkness there were candles around me.
I remember there was mist
Swirling mist upon a vast, glassy lake
There were candles all around us
And on the lake
There was a boat
And in the boat there was a man
I saw a man playing the organ as I began to walk to him I question myself "Who was that shape in the shadows? Who was that face with a mask?"
I was right behind him and I suddenly ripped his mask without thought. He suddenly stand and turn around which made me saw his deformed face but I wasn't afraid of his face but the fear what will he do to me after disobeying him. He pushed me roughly on the floor and froze there. I realized he looked just like Victor but without the deformity.
"Damn you! You little lying Pandora! You little viper! This is what you wanted to see!" He shouted which made me more scared of him. "Damn you! Curse you!" Now he began to shake me roughly which made me cry.
Suddenly he was now weeping by my side too. I reached his mask and gave it back to him. He put it on before turning around which face me his back.
He stood up, grabbed my hand and began to walk to the boat. "Those fools who run my theatre will be missing you" He say.
While we were on the boat, we didn't say a word. I was about to say sorry when a yawn escaped from my mouth instead. "Sleep Christine..." He say full of regret and betrayal but a hint of anger.
Instead of protesting I laid down on the soft silk sheets of the pillows and close my eyes....
Maria's POV
'Nighttime sharpens
Heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs
And wakes imagination'
I was about to open my eyes when the sound of Victor's singing voice was heard by my ears.
I opened them I only saw blurriness and then I saw his mask - it wasn't Victor it was the masked man!
I jumped from the bed and in the corner hiding my face. "Please do anything you want but please don't hurt me!" I say sobbing. I don't know what he'll do to me but I prayed to God that he won't take advantage of me.
"Maria...It's me...Victor"
