The Accident, The Face and The Truth

Victor's POV

"Mom I can do it by myself" I said to my mom to let me go drive the car on my own. Today was the 6th Thursday for my driving lessons with my mom. After she left the car I drove the car to three blocks when suddenly a car  which was too fast  bumped me.

I couldn't control the car and it keeps circling. Then my life came flashing before my eyes, I smashed into a large tree then felt pain on the right side of my face and heat around my body. I then hear someone was shouting my name and the sirens of an ambulance. Then Blackness suddenly consumed over me.

I woke up expecting to be in my bed with blue wallpaper but instead the walls cover in boring white and in a...hospital bed.

What was I doing in a hospital bed !?! Why do I feel pain on the right side of my face? Why do I have a bandage on my face? These questions keep pouring in my throbbing head.

I was about to get up when a hand grabbed my arm. "Victor don't get up wait here I have to call the doctor" Knowing it was my mother's voice and I just nodded and my mom dashed out of the room calling for the doctor.

A doctor and a nurse came back and began checking my vitals and my condition. A few hours later they came back with scissors, cotton balls, a bottle of alcohol and a sryinge filled with a white substance.

The doctor asked me if I was prepared to cut the bandage in response I just nodded. I closed my eyes when the doctor began cutting the bandage on the right side of my face. After I felt the last bandage that was off from my face I suddenly heard a ear-peircing scream that was when I opened my eyes I saw the doctor wide eyed and the nurse fainted on the floor.

I suddenly grabbed the mirror on the bedside table and I suddenly felt  was pure shock because my face was now...

Deformed!

Grotesque!

Hideous!

A Freak!

My flesh on the right side of my face was missing a few pieces of flesh and I can see a few veins and arteries. The color was bluishpurple and red.

Now my life with a good school,  a nice family and...Maria was gone. Oh God! I forgot about Maria. Without her my life would be different because of that accident. I didn't even tell her I loved her. No!!! What is she see me like this a freak. A hideous and deformed freak!

I began to sob now that my life is now over. "Victor you need rest" My dad comforted me but I i ignored it.

"Dad Look at me!!! I'm hideous. I 'll never be normal." I screamed at him over and over again. Then I suddenly feel a stinging pain on my forearm. I looked at it, it was a sryinge is injecting the white substance by the doctor. I suddenly saw fogginess and I feel lightheaded.

"Victor, you need some rest. Don't worry we'll tell your school. Get some rest" My dad say to me. Then all of a sudden blackness took over me again....

A few hours later...

I woke up still in this blasted bed and walked to the bathroom to do my business and when I was done I went back to bed but can't seem to get some sleep. I decided to write my letter to Maria all that we done expressing all in just one letter and I even wrote that I loved her, the accident and my address maybe she will write back to me.

I began to cry softly in my hands knowing that I will never get to see her suddenly a hand touched my shoulder softly and I turned seeing it was my mom. "Mom, what am I to do?" I asked my mom hopelessly "Honey, we can get through this, I'll talk to your principal saying you moved to a new school because of this accident but instead you'll be tutored by my friend." I nodded and I handed her the letter which she gave me a confused look.
