Chapter 6:

The First Date

My dear readers, do you believe in fairy tales? Where a prince on a white horse whisks you off into the golden sunset or a charming beast steals your heart and you live happily ever after together? Those stories are full of crap. Sure, everyone loves a heart-warming love story, with no flaws whatsoever but why not make a realistic one? Why lie to the youth and make them think love is perfect?

Of course, realistic fairy tales aren't always guaranteed happy endings.

Tyler was checking me out. I wasn't looking at him, but I could feel his eyes studying my physique. I didn't stop him because I was doing the same thing to him. His hands gripped the steering wheel and he sighed.

"You, uh, have make up on," He stated awkwardly.

I rolled my eyes, grinning slightly. "Lana attacked my face with her makeup bag,"

He laughed. "I think you look amazing either way,"

I blushed and pinched his shoulder, playfully. "Does your charm have an off button? You're so flirtatious,"

"There is no end to my charisma!" He smiled like a fool and didn't care.

I laughed and he laughed and we had a laughing party.

He parked the car in front of the restaurant and turned to me slowly.

"You look gorgeous tonight,"

I turned a bit, too, so I could see him better. "You don't look too bad yourself,"

He smiled and leaned in for a kiss. This kiss was somehow different from most of our kisses. It was soft and slow, oozing with passion and desire. My heart rate sped up and I'm guessing his did, too. His hand pressed against my neck and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. When he pulled away from me, he gazed at me with an expression I'd never seen in his eyes, a mixture of love, desire and self-control?

He sighed and leaned close to my ear. "You don't know how amazing you are,"

"You wanna bet?" I said sarcastically.

He chuckles softly. "No matter how amazing you think you are, you're actually twice that,"

I grinned. "Kiss up,"

He smiled, too and opened the car doors. After he politely opened the door for me, I linked my arm in his and together we trekked into the restaurant.

We sat at a table near a window and gazed up at the shimmering streetlights, glowing below the stars.

"It's really beautiful out tonight," he stated, resting his palm on my knee under the table.

I nodded, grinning lightly.

He smiled at me. "I still remember the constellation you told me about after we left Cynthia's party."

"Oh, really?" I raised an eyebrow at him, amused. "Name it."

"Orion," He said, smugly.

"I'm impressed." I leaned in closer to him, across the table and he did the same.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah."

His fingers danced over my knee. "Maybe you could show me it when we're done. You know... like last time,"

I giggled and rubbed his forearm. "Of course. Just don't be as distracted with my physique as you were last time."

His lips twitched up into a grin and his cheeks just barely reddened. "That'll be hard,"
