«Chapter 4»

Calum
I sat up in the bed and sighed. No I didn't want them to cry. Yea they made a mistake...they're human.

I couldn't stay mad at them no matter how hard I tried. It frustrated me.

"I just want to go home." I whispered and Luke grabbed my hand. He made comforting circles on the back of my hand with his thumb and I smiled at him.

"I know Cally. The doctors just need to check a few things then we can." He said softly.

"Well then what're they waiting for?" I ask and he chuckles.

"Well you were sleeping." He said quietly and I nodded. I couldn't help but look at the closed door. I'm sure it wouldn't open any time soon. The boys were gone.

Luke stood suddenly, his chair legs screeching against the floor. "I'll get the doctor." He says slowly and I nod.

Before he can leave I squeeze his hand and give him a small smile.

"Thank you." I mumble and he shakes his head.

"For what?" He asks with furrowed eyebrows.

"For being there for me when the other two weren't. I mean you tried, you know?"

He shook his head and gave me a sad smile. "You shouldn't have to thank me for that. But I'll always be here for you. No matter what. I can't loose my partner in crime." He leaned down to kiss my hand before walking to the door, but he stopped before he went out and turned to give me a big smile. "I love you." He says and I couldn't help but smile.

"I love you too." I say quietly then he leaves. I rest my head back and sigh. It felt good.

It was like I had been carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders these past few months and now that everything was out in the open, I could breath again. It was also nice to know I didn't have to do this alone, that Luke would be there for me like I was for him since day 1. He's never let me down before and it didn't look like he ever would.

It wasn't long before Luke came back but this time with a doctor in tow.

"Mr. Hood, how're you feeling?" The doctor asked with a kind smile that I returned.

"Good. I feel great." I tell him and the doctor nods, coming over to look at the machines connected to me. He asks me a few more questions before nodding.

"I think you're good to go. We just need you to fill out some papers and you can leave. I'll be back with your clothes." He smiles and hands me some papers but Luke ends up taking them.

The doctor leaves and Luke sits next to me, grabbing my hand while he looked through the papers.

"Sometimes I just want to fill these out completely wrong, it would be funny don't you think?" I ask and he looks up and smiles.

"Name?" He asks and I shrug with a smile.

"Ophelia Horan."

Luke raises an eyebrow. "Ophelia...Horan?" He asks through his giggles.

"You didn't hear?" I gasp dramatically. "Why Niall proposed the other night! I'm gonna be his new Ms!" Luke shook his head and I giggled.

"Sex?" He asks and I shrug.

"Yes please." He throws his head down in laughter and I can't help but giggle too.

"You doof! You know what I think I'll just fill it out for you." He says and I shrug.

"You should've seen that one coming." He just shakes his head while I continue to laugh.

The door opens and my head snaps to that direction to see the doctor walk in with a bag in his hand. He sets it on the bed and gives us a smile. "Almost done?" He asks and Luke nods.

"Well these are your clothes and when you change into them just put your gown into this bag and leave it on your bed then bring the papers to the front desk and you should be good to go."

"Thank you." I say quietly and he nods.

"No problem, just remember to drink 2 cups of water a day and not exhaust yourself so much. You were extremely dehydrated." I nod and the doctor comes over to start unhooking the wires around me. He says goodbye before leaving the room.

I get up and change my clothes. When I'm done, I put the gown in the bag and put it on the bed like the doctor had said. Luke takes my hand and leads me out the door when I've finished.

He leads me to the front desk where he hands the sheets to the nurse and waits until she gives us a friendly smile and tells us we're good to go.

As we head through the waiting room to the front door I notice 2 familiar faces. Ashton and Michael jump up to walk with me and Luke but they both keep their heads down, too ashamed to meet my eyes.

The moment we're out the door I'm hit with bright flashes and loud voices. I flinch and an arm wraps around my waist, pulling me through the crowd.

"Calum! Over here!"

"Calum! Is it true you tried to commit!?"

"Calum! Why were you in the hospital?!"

"Do you have a medical condition?! Calum!"

"Hey Calum! Look over here!"

"Tell us why you're here!"

I sighed as I blindly walked forward. But the arm around my waist seemed to know what they were doing as they lead me through the crowd and to an awaiting car. I looked over to see that Ashton was the one guiding me through the mass of people.

As we made it through the crowd of reporters, it opened up to a crowd of fans. My eyes watered as I saw the signs and heard the encouraging shouts my way. This was what made this job worth while, the fans.

"I hope you're okay Calum!"

"Get better soon!"

"We love you Calum!"

Before I could hear any more I was in the awaiting car. I looked out the window and waved to my fans, smiling as I sent them all thankful glances.

The car pulled away and started back to the hotel as I rolled my window back up.

"How're you feeling?" Michael asked. I looked up at his red and puffy eyes and shrugged.

"I'm feeling better."

"That's good." He nodded and I awkwardly looked out the window.

The car was left in awkward silence after that until it pulled up to the hotel. I'm left with an even more awkward elevator ride and walk to the hotel room. I practically ran to my shared room but before I could make it I was stopped by the boys, the silence finally filled.

"Calum...we're so sorry."

I BET YE ARE! Anyway...

I cried this weekend because I found out about Louis mom :( I don't know how they're dealing with this but I wish them well. <3

Anyway I'm a total Niall girl so sorry for that 1D moment in here...but you know GOTTA DEAL BECAUSE ITS NOT LEAVING
