Through silence we find strength
And through strength we prevail
We can change things if we tried
But we have to really try
To be the change that we need
It hasn't been fair
For a very long time
The way the people are oppressed
The way we don't feel free
The way we're exploited so people above us can maintain lavish lifestyles
The way they destroy sacred land
To add an unnecessary damaging elements
Just to make more money
The way they treat people
Who are just trying to protect
Land that is rightfully theirs
Who are being beaten
And arrested
And blasted apart
Shot
And maced
I don't believe in a Christian God but if I did
I'd be ashamed of the faith I would have in his existence
For letting money and power
Exceed over love
And basic human decency
I would have expected better from God
But I don't believe in a Christian God
So I'm highly disappointed in the human race
For being so greedy
So vile
So disgustingly in favor of destroying our Earth
We destroy the environment
We make the air unbreathable
The water undrinkable
We let millions go hungry
Because it wouldn't be profitable to feed them
We put toxins in our water supply
And in our foods
And we're told that they're safe to consume
That they help feed millions of people
But do they really?
We do so many things that harm so many of our fellow humans
When will it stop?
When promoting destruction
Is no longer profitable.
