Life without rain
Isn't life at all
Without thunder clouds
What's it all worth?
The sun eventually comes out
But I hate the sun
And I hate the thought of love
Because love cannot exist in the dark
I have seen that
I have felt that
The darkness storms on the feeling of hopefulness
And I love the rain more than I could ever love another
I refuse to leave the shadows
I refuse to see the light
I refuse to step out into the sunshine and feel the heat of day on my skin
The dark touches my soul
Touches my heart
Cloaks my body in comforting cool
This is where I know myself
Where I can know others
The light blinds the eyes of those
Who seek to know the depths of every person
The light blinds you
And makes you subject to the unknown
And dear
That is worse
Than the shadows
Could ever be
