This collection doesn't rhyme
Most of the time
And all of it is pretty sad
What a shocker
But honestly it doesn't feel
So sad anymore
As long as I keep my focus
And don't write of the events
That have made it so difficult
To breathe
When I try to sleep
Or make it so I scream
When I want to sing
Or make it so I leave when I want to stay
Or cry in the shower when I just want to thinkNo
What people have done to me does not define me
But their actions sure do leave scars
Scars all across my body
And scars on my heart
but the scars on my heart are fine
All healed up
And doin alright
The scars lie across my skin from not my hands
But from the hands of another
Terrifying and lasting
I have learned to cope
I have learned to deal
I have learned to ignore
I have learned to sing instead of screamI have learned to breathe
