A Mystery

Chapter Six

- Ambers POV -

Not leaving the house is tough.. I feel like I'm trapped in jail or hell, but I guess my life is hell anyway.

I jumped up to my bedroom and rested my head on the glass pain, watching the little girl run around on the beach. She looked so happy, like nothing could stop her smile. I wish I was like that..

I tried to gather my memory from what happened last night, but I couldn't remember anything. I felt like crying but there was nothing left to cry, do you ever feel like that?

- Josh's POV -

"Josh, go get your sister she's on the beach alone" Mike said pointing out the living room window. I stepped out the front door and felt the sun on my face.

"Josh!" Katie shouted as I approached her.

"Come home Katie, Mike just made lunch" I said taking her hand. She skipped along the path beside me and then into the house.

I sat down on the grass with my books and some pieces of paper.. I felt like drawing today.

Suddenly I heard a thump, then I heard it again and again, I looked everywhere but I couldn't find where it was coming from. Then I noticed, it was the new neighbours, the girl.. She was hitting her head of the window upstairs, she didn't notice me looking up at her.

Then she stopped and seen me, suddenly she ducked under the window quickly hiding from me. I didn't look away because I knew she'd look out again, I had an idea..

I grabbed a piece of paper and wrote on it;

"Hi.. Are you alright? You seem.. Distressed."

I made it into a paper airplane and waited for her to look out her window, I seen the top of her head.

I signalled her to open the window, she hesitated for a minute but then agreed. I threw the paper airplane and it hit the top of her house, but fell onto her window cil.

- Ambers POV -

I was shaking too much, it was hard to hold this note straight.. I read it and thought of a reply.

"Uh I'm fine, sorry for thumping the window"

I threw it back and he caught it. He seemed, innocent and kind.. Even if I've never talked to him before. My mum told me to never talk to anyone around here because she doesn't want me ruining our chances of a normal life again.. Fuck what she says.

He threw it back and I opened it.

"come outside?"

I jumped down from my window and walked to my mirror. I looked dead.. Literally, but oh well.

I got to my front door and waited a moment, am I really going to ruin my mums promise?
