"Max!" My mom rushed in the room. She threw both arms around, but being cautious not to knock out the IV. "Oh my God, Max..." She said, speechless, with eyes welling up of tears.

"Where's dad?" I asked, not very paniked. I really didn't want him to see me.

"Cafeteria."

"Wait, please tell me Christain isn't here. Mom, he's too little to see me."

"Don't worry, hunny. Chris is with Gram and Pops. You do have some friends here, though."

Oh dear lord..I thought.

"I'll let them know your're awake, along with Dad."  I saw my mom walk down the hall, where she stoped by Brennen. I saw him pass off his nephew, Reece to Mom, who ruffled his hair, and continued her way.

Soon enough,  my friends stood around my bed.

"Maxi, I'm sorry, I had to call them." Evan began. "It was them who called an ambulance."

"Did Chris see me last night?"

"No." He answered. "Your dad had me take him into the bathroom, so all he heard were sirens. He didn't even see the truck."

"Brennen, your arm!" I shouted, not meaning to change the subject.

"Looks like you both had a bad night." Sandree piped in.

"Kids, do you mind if we speak to Max?" My dad came in behind them. Nobody objected, but before leaving, Evan smacked my hand, and grabbed it, quickly sliding it free, "Get better, Maxi."

He could barley look at may parents walking by them. I think maybe he was ashamed.
