It got dark outside and everybody started to get ready in secret for the long-awaited Halloween Party. Lydia, Ginny and Hermione were getting ready as well. For the three it had been the first party thrown by a classmate, never in their lives, they have been more excited. All of this was pretty new to them, mostly for Hermione. It took a lot of persuasiveness to make her sneak out late at night, but for Lydia, it wasn't the first time sneaking out to go to a party. During holidays she would often go to parties of her friends and would have to sneak out since her parents didn't want her to go. And for Ginny, she loved to break rules in a way.
Clothes were laying across the whole dormitory, on the lamp, the beds and the nightstands, well they were spread everywhere. "I won't find anything in 20 min", Hermione screamed and fell down on her bed. A tear rolled down her cheek and suddenly she felt the warm hug from her best friends comforting her. "Why don't you try this dress?", Lydia said, pointing at a black velvet dress with an embellished collar. It was perfect for Hermione, it emphasised her smartness perfectly. Eventually, Hermione got up and tried the dress on. A quiet 'wow' came out from the mouths of her best friends, "You look amazing Mione".
Six years and Seventh years, snuck out their common rooms onto the corridor, tiptoeing, not wanting to get in trouble. "You ready?", Lydia asked, squishing the hands of her two best friends. Both nodded and squished Lydia's hand even harder. As they opened the door of the Room of Requirement, the corridor was filled with music. One last glance to the right and the left until Lydia, Hermione and Ginny stepped into the smelling Room. The last time Lydia at seen the room filled with people, the Dumbledore Army was created and they had their very first meeting.
Many students were already inside, every single one had a big smile on their face. Even if it has been caused by alcohol, everybody felt good. Only some student had thrown up in the left and right corners. "Wow, this place is crowded. I think I am going to look for Harry", Ginny said while entering the Room of Requirements, leaving Hermione and Lydia alone. "I wonder why", both laughed and made their way onto the dancefloor. Of course, Ginny left looking for Harry, even if she and Dean never officially broke up, she wanted to be with Harry. Maybe it was because they were like brother and sister or maybe it was because she always had a thing for him, the Chosen one. Ever since he saved her in the chamber of secrets, she looked at him in a different way. Soon Hermione left Lydia too because McLaggen asked her one dance and they were happily dancing or better said Hermione had an angry face and McLaggen kept on smiling. Nobody wanted to dance with him and Hermione only did it because she wanted to make Ron jealous, who was snogging, almost having sex, with Lavender in one of the other corners, in where nobody had thrown up.
Lydia stood leaning against the cold stone wall and observed everything and everyone: The blonde seventh definitely had drunken too much and would get a terrible headache on the next day, the girl who sold herself to gits, who would tell everyone what she did and in the end the girl would leave the school.
But in the end, they seemed happy in the moment, each and everyone had a person to at least talk with, each and everyone but Lydia. She stood alone leaning against the wall." What did she do here? She didn't belong here.", she tried to make herself believe. For a month she had been waiting for this, something she looked forward to. But then her expectations became dust. None of the points on the checklist, she had written for this day, had been checked. Not the dance with a boy, not the kiss in the magical moonlight and not the fun she had promised herself. Nothing. Eventually, she got up and stood straight. Her back already hurt a bit, leaning on a hard stone wall hadn't been the best decision of the night. Her clear eyes spotted a comfortable looking couch, so she made her body move towards it.
Lydia
I was watching Hermione and McLaggen dance once again, trying not to vomit while looking at McLaggen. His eyes said what he couldn't say, he wanted more than just this slow dance. All I could do was hope that Hermione would allow him to hurt her real bad. I knew Hermione just danced with him to make Ron jealous, but he was still snogging around with Lavender, not even glancing once towards her. One more look towards any of their directions I would have killed myself and thrown the body down the astronomy tower. "Hey", someone said, sitting down on next to me. I knew who it was just by his voice. Malfoy. "What do you want? Do you wanna tell me again that I am not allowed to tell anyone that you were out?", I sneered, not looking at his face. But if I would have looked at him I would have seen his confusion, he just wanted to start a nice conversation. "No.", he simply replied," Why aren't you with Potter?". No answer. He had to ask another time until I replied, that I didn't know. Well, in reality, I knew why I wasn't with him or neither of my girls.
