One last time Lydia looked deeply content at her masterpiece and leant back in her chair. She has never been more proud of herself, what she had accomplished would change everything.

But why did she do it? Why did she write the song? Because of Draco. She didn't change a bit, but she didn't want to hear it as much as it was true. She had been the same person masquerading behind a mean bitch who lost all of her friends but still managed to find new ones. Seamus and she were at the closest and couldn't ignore the sparkles around them.

Neville also came very close to her but realised that his crush for her wouldn't be returned. He had to accept that she wouldn't want him, eventually, he had opened up a little to her. " You know Lydia, Ehm I don't know how to start", he began to stutter and his hands began to sweat really bad, "you mean a lot to me...". But all she did was laughing until she realised he meant it. "Oh Neville, I am sorry, this wasn't a joke, was it? Listen, as much as you mean to me, like a lot, but I don't reciprocate your feelings.  I am sorry,  really sorry. Neville Longbottom, I like you but more as friends." Of course, a part of Neville's heart broke into pieces but he loved her and wanted HER to be happy. Suddenly his greatest fear has happened, it wasn't Snape or seeing his parents being tortured in front of his eyes, no it was being told that the girl he loved the most doesn't return his feelings. It seemed pathetic to him but wasn't at all. Every teenager had felt this way before. Before their first date, a math test, meeting new people and of course telling something that they are feeling.

Lydia smiled at the thought that Neville had fallen for her, it was cute. However, she couldn't be more proud of her fellow friend.

"Lydia my friend, may you tell me the difference- uh is my class not interesting enough?"

Why wouldn't she listen? This year was important! The fat old man had his greyish green eyes fixed on the old ragged parchment on the also very old round wood table. "Look what we have here! You wrote this in my class?". For a moment Lydia's world was slow motion and she had a small panic attack, would he give her more detention, if he would, she would have been on the detention count for five and three-quarter months of the first and the second term.

"Madame, what is this?". She already feared to see Professor Slughorn angry for the first time but her fears didn't verify at all. His old wrinkly face managed to form a face and sunk into fascination.  Slowly,  with a lot of grace, he held up the parchment and clapped on the back of the surprised Lydia. Her dark brown eyes grew bigger and bigger, he wasn't meant to read it. All her emotion and all her heartbreak were in it, but even worse the person who inspired her, in the end, was in the same room as her. His smirk froze and in the eyes of everyone besides Lydia, he looked worried.

Eventually, Lydia found her voice in the back of her throat, her voice all raspy, she told her potions professor the truth. Not any longer she could play along to her own promises, she had to let go, "These words you are holding belong to a song that I wrote".

"Miss Thomson, would you mind and sing this for us? I believe you have an incredible voice."

Lydia nodded even though she didn't want to, but Professor Slughorn wouldn't accept a no and she knew it.

"Breath Lydia, you can do it? You have sung in front of people before, haven't you?", she tried to motivate herself and slowly breathed in and out until she was ready to sing out her feeling.

When she started to sing a weight was lifted up from her body and she felt as she was floating, no worries and sadness, just her voice and her.

But in the real world, Draco sat petrified on the wooden old chair and felt as if a knife was shot right in his heart. Of course, he knew that his Ex-girlfriend sang about him and called him names he never expected to hear from her. It wasn't only the words that hurt him, her voice was clear and without worries. She had forgotten about him, but as much as HE tries he couldn't forget about her, the way her hair blew in the wind, her beautiful smile when he made her laugh that she fell off a chair. Neither he could forget about her beautiful red lips, how they have touched his and made him feel a thousand butterflies in his chest. But on the other side, he knew he wasn't allowed to love her. A family just out of purebloods would be destroyed by one mudblood, the dark lord would not please it either. It would end with many dead people, his parents included. He wanted to run away once again and leave everything behind, be free and himself.

As Lydia finished her emotional ballad, telling the story of a girl and a boy who loved each other but as the boy decided to leave the girl one, but instead of finding another love the boy never found true love; he was described as cold-hearted within the song. However, the girl found love again and eventually was happy that her ex-boyfriend broke up with her. Basically, Lydia had written down her and Draco's relationship on one or three parchments. She didnt quite know the consequences of it but she soon would find out. Clapping hands drowned LYdias fast beating heart and Draco's sobbing. "Miss Thomson, why aren't you in the choir? Professor Flitwick would be so proud to have you in his choir?", Professor Slughorn slapped her proudly on her back, never in his whole life, he had seen someone singing with such a passion. He knew for sure that he would have to spare a place for her on the shelf. Only his favourite students had a place on the old Slughorn's shelf, well only the popular students with a lot of skill would find their selves on their someday.
