Nadia P.O.V.
May walked over to the door and knocked. Nat and Clint stood on either side of me, an arm wrapped around my shoulders each. I had a feeling that niether wanted to let go.
Don't worry, you won't lose me, I promise.
I told them as I squeezed their hands. They squeezed back.
May rang the doorbell again. "Coming!" A woman's voice yelled from somewhere in the house. I felt her rapid footsteps come closer to the door. I took another deep breathe.
The door swung open and there stood a woman. Her hair was the color of my mother's but slightly lighter, she wore it in a bun much like the one she wore on my fourth birthday. She was wearing a pair of skinny jeans with a white blouse. She wore a beautiful locket much like one I had seen my mother keep in her jewelry box. "Sorry it took so long, had to-" The woman cut short as she caught sight of me. "Holy...." She whispered. Aunt Irene.
I waved and whispered a small. "Hi"
May said something to her and she nodded before allowing May to come inside.
I let out the breathe I was holding subconsciously. Clint squeezed my shoulder comfortingly. "Don't worry sweetie, I'm sure everything will work out." Nat said attempting to calm me.
I sighed. "And if it doesn't?"
Nat turned me to face her. "Then Clint and I will still stay by your side. Remember that we are always here for you." She said as she pulled me into a hug. I smiled.
"Thanks Mom." I said calling her Mom for the first time. She tightened the hug. Clint joined in. "Guys.... Need oxygen...!" I said as they squeezed tighter. They released me and I was gasping for air.
"Hey Lovebirds! Ya gonna come in or what?" May yelled at us from the porch with Aunt Irene behind her with tears running down her cheeks. We released each other and turned towards the door.
I smiled. "Oh this is gonna be wierd." I muttered through my teeth and began walking up the stairs leading to the door with Nat and Clint on either side.
As we reached the door Aunt Irene gripped me in a bone crushing hug. "I can't believe it's really you!" She said sobbing.
I gasped for air. "And I can't believe I'm still consious."
She released me immediately. "Oh! Sorry it's just, I-"
I cut her off. "N-no, I-it's okay. I understand." I said nervously smiled.
She wiped her eyes. "Well let's get you all something to drink. Come on in." She said gesturing for us to come inside. I looked back at Nat and Clint. They made shooing motions with their hands. I rolled my eyes and smiled before following Aunt Irene.
"Go ahead and sit while I go get some lemonade." Aunt Irene said as she walked calmly to the kitchen.
"Sure!" Nat said smiling. We walked to the living room. I used the materials in the house to get a layout. Upstairs there were four bedrooms. One was the master bedroom. Another was a sewing room. The third was a boy's bedroom-most likely Louis-and the last was a medium sized room, in it was what I assumed were bunk beds. I could tell that if things went well I would be staying in there with my cousin Elizabeth.
Aunt Irene came back into the room carrying a tray filled with glasses and a pitcher filled with lemonade. Nat stood and helped distibute glasses. I took one and took a small sip. "It's really good." I said smiling up at Aunt Irene.
"Thank you sweetie." She said smiling back.
Maybe this won't be so bad.
The door opened. "We're home!" A teenage girl's voice rang out. The suspected owner of the voice set her bag on a bench by the door before walking into the room followed by an 8 year-old boy. "Oh! I didn't know you had guests Mom."
Aunt Irene gestured to me. "Actually Elizabeth, this is your cousin, Nadia."
