Next chapter! :) Sorry this took a while, and my writing style is very inconsistent, so sorry about that too. XD
Chapter 2-
“I’m sorry…"
She twisted the hem of her shirt nervously “I don’t deal with pain very well…” Lucas sighed in response.
“Is… that okay?” She mumbled.
“Are you sure?!” He squeaked out, clasping the pendant tightly, as if he didn’t want to let go, which he didn’t. Reece was worried he’d have to prise it out of his hands or something. Which he was quite willing to do.
“Yes. I wanna help the world.” She bore a quiet determination that Reece quietly admired.
Lucas was a total pacifist. Reece had a sense of nobility that made him act for greater good. Combined, they’d be completely rational, but being two, separate people who just happened to be best friends, rationality was dead.
Reece was next to speak. “Well, it’s best you know what’s going on. Well, we’re changing your DNA, infusing and mutating it with that of a polar bear, naturally, your body will fight the intruder, so…” He let her infer, even normal 16 year olds could understand that.
“Luke, give her the pendant.”
“Che!” Cream gasped as she took it, but held onto it anyway. It felt like the pendant was trying to dig into her skin.
Reece closed his eyes and folded his arms as Cream struggled to stay standing. She felt she had to prove herself to them, that she was strong enough. She was shaking violently and she could see Lucas’ horrified gaze, he may or may not have told Lucas anything beforehand.
“A-are you okay?” Taking a step forward, Lucas blinked anxiously at her condition. Despite it, she managed to flash him a smile.
“I’m f-f-fine… I mean, I’ll have to fight Aliens, they’ll be way worse than a l-little pinch, r-right?” She forced out through tired lips, but she was already seeing blurry dots blocking her eyes, how was she supposed to fight the Aliens if she couldn’t even handle this?
Reece sighed, “You’re lying.” Her knees shook even more.
Her heart quickened pace as she tried to force herself to smile, but she somehow couldn’t manage it. Her knees shook harshly and she struggled to keep her footing. Anyone that wasn’t her could probably handle this better…
“Cream, are you al-“Lucas started but before he could finish, her knees gave one final shake and they buckled underneath her.
Both the boys moved towards her as she fell, but they were too far away, and gravity takes no prisoners.
She hit the floor like any human being, with a smack. Lucas flinched as she hit the floor, kneeling down next to her and checking her pulse. “She’s fine.” He sighed, relieved.
Reece was blander in his approach. “Of course, she’s being infused with a polar bear for Pete’s sake, she must be tough, even if she doesn’t seem to think so.” Lucas glared daggers at him, unconvinced.
As Cream awoke, 3 hours later, she was greeted by two big brown eyes very near to her face.
“Gahhh!” She sat up quickly and smashed into Lucas’ forehead.
“Oooowwwww… I’m sorry” She groaned, rubbing her head.
“S’okay!” Lucas laughed and Cream smiled back.
“Hey, you’re awake, huh? Guess it’s time to see if the fusion worked.” Reece used his expensive shoes to break into the conversation.
“She just woke up!” He retorted angrily, leaping back up.
“No, its fine, if I’m going to protect people I probably need to get used to this.” She rubbed her eyes sleepily.
Lucas glanced over at her, his protective side showing for the small girl. Reece was laughing inwardly; his friend was being such an idiot. But in a funny way this time.
“Come on.” Cream leapt up, tottered to the left a bit, and then followed on. “No, Lucas, you can’t come along.” Reece was psychic.
She moved slowly along, still getting used to walking again, fainting really confused her brain.
She finally had enough time to take a proper look around, half the stuff was pink, and the chairs were adorable and backed with pretty heart shapes. The room was high ceilinged, and there were three halls leading off. One led to the kitchen, another the staff area, the last was the stair well leading upstairs and some down leading to what she assumed was the basement.
“You want to try transforming now?” Reece turned around in the middle of the room.
“Okay, how?” She truly was curious about that side of things, after all, how was it she was supposedly going to grow animal ears and turn into some sort of magical girl like the kind you find in anime and manga.
“You know that pendant? It’s in your pocket. Take it out…” She did, “And yell out ‘Mew Cream, Metamorphosis,’ you should transform.” Reece instructed her in a patronising way as if she were learning to ride a bike.
“Uh… it seems weird, randomly shouting out words for no reason…” She mumbled.
“You won’t say that when Aliens are trying to kill you, just saying.” He shrugged as if it were an everyday event.
“Okay.” She took a deep breath. “Mew Cream, metamorphosis!” She closed her eyes and kissed what she now considered to be her pendant.
She suddenly felt cold.
What was happening?
Okay, so now I feel bad for hurting Cream, dammit chapter two's too eventful. It's moving too fast, I can tell. Gah, I'll try to make chapter three better than this. XD
Thanks for reading guys! Ciao~
