It was time.

The final battle was about to begin.

The demigods were preparing to fight for Olympus.

The Battle of Mount Othrys

Cato finished strapping on his armour, and looked around at his fellow Romans. Jason was standing in front of them all, beginning to give a speech.

He looked around at each of them in turn. Jason emits such an air of confidence, thought Cato. It's no wonder he's a praetor.

Cato knew he'd never become that important, but at least, with this battle perhaps he could gain some more respect from people other than shallow adolescent girls or little boys who wanted to be "attractive" and a "rebel" like him.

Ha, and he was one of the most obedient people he knew.

"As you all know," Jason spoke up, "today we march to Mount Othrys to kill the Titan Krios. Lives will be lost, and not only that of the opponent. But we march with the desire of victory, and if we're determined enough, victory is what we shall get."

Everyone looked around the field, no doubt thinking about who'd be the first to go.

Cato thought of Sophia, and how she'd be going to fight another Titan-Kronos. Wasn't he the most powerful of them all?

He desperately hoped she'd be alright. He wished there was some way to contact her, but they couldn't without arising suspicion.

Would he ever even see her again? If one of them died, then he definitely wouldn't. But if they both survived...

It was possible, but it would be difficult, very difficult. Their camps were enemies. It was kinda like Romeo and Juliet, in a way. Sophia had even had a fake copy of her "dead body" lying on the road, to throw them off, because it would be suspicious if she never returned. And she wouldn't. Cato knew that.

Finally, it was time to go.

Cato walked alongside Joe, who was talking non-stop as he always did when he was nervous.

When they got to the mountain, the opposing army was there waiting for them; Cato could see giants, telkhines, titans, storm spirits, or Venti... and a whole bunch of other horror he couldn't name. But the scariest of all was in the centre of them-Krios.

He was like twenty feet tall, wearing black armor with stars on it, and his helmet was shaped like a ram's head with horns on it. He carried an enormous sword.

Cato and his comrades stared at the army in fright. This would be impossible.

Then Jason and Reyna shouted, "charge!", and they all ran forward with their weapons at the ready, the archers already beginning to shoot.

At the same time, the enemy rushed forward. Cato watched as Jason fought his way through, eventually stopping in front of Krios.

They became locked in a hand-to-hand battle, circling each other and lashing out with their swords. Jason was doing alright, but there couldn't be much chance of him holding up against a Titan.
