*"Give me back my sister you bitch!" I shouted full of anger."I would love to do that, but I can't. She is with her dad in jail where she belongs." She spoke with an edgy voice with her annoying southern accent. "Give them back or else!" I threatened. "I would love to see you try!" She called smirking evily. "Fine. That's the way you want it. You got it." I mumbled and a brilliant flame started from my body. Then I charged forward baring my long black and white katana.*

Beep. Beep. Beep. Oh gosh so annoying. I slammed my hand against the hard, metallic cover. The button meant to turn off the clock, clicked and magically it turned off. I rolled over in my bed and looked up at the ceiling. "Ok, can't be that bad today." I sat up and looked into the mirror across the room. Oh no my hair was a mess! I don't believe in magic but it was unbelievable how many times this has happened.

I jumped out of bed and hurried into the shower. Once I got out and wrapped the dry towel over my soaking wet body I stood in front of a different mirror. Perfect! I tied it into a ponytail and shrugged on my clothes. I guess before we go on I should tell you everything.

My name is Vanessa Jones. I am a 9th grader. "Fresh meat" as they call it in the movies. My hair is straight and very dark brown. My eyes are dark brown as well as my hair. I am mixed. My mom is white and my dad is black. At least that's what my mom told me. My dad isn't around anymore. My mom said because he is dead, but I feel there is more to the story then she is saying. She is a doctor any way so she barely has enough time to talk to me about it. BANG. BANG. BANG. My little brother bumped into my door over and over again. "What Jack, what do you want?" I yelled through the door trying to mask my annoyance. "Mom says come down stairs." He whailed through the door. He obviously had a cold. That's what you get for eating things off the floor.

I sprinted down stairs and to my surprise my mother was watching blue blood from the small T.V. in our kitchen. "Good morning Mom, where is breakfast?" I said looking at the empty wood table. "Oh sorry honey I got home just a couple hours ago." She said looking at me sympathetically "Save it I know the story". I mumbled under my breath and snatched up a protein bar and a apple from the fruit basket. " I am really sorry honey I know it's hard for you sometimes, " "Nevermind that mom if we keep talking I am going to be late for the bus. Goodbye." I said and strided toward the front door, before my mom had a chance to say anything else.

I dashed past the different colored houses and many different signs to get to the bus stop. The hard cracked sidewalk making popping sounds as pebbles flew up from the ground. A bunch of teenagers were already heading into the bus including my best friend. Jackson. I skipped a step or two to get up on the bus aisle faster. Jackson always saved a spot for me next to him in the very back. I plopped down next to him and looked into his light brown golden eyes.
