It was wet and felt sticky all around me as I searched for something in the dark. But, the thing was that I didn't know what I was looking for.
I snatched a candle from a nearby, creaky table and lit a match across it that I got from my cold pocket.
I gasped in shock at what I saw in front of me. Purple veins seemed to shoot across the room and fill it with sickly dim colors. I reflexively crossed my arms protectively in front of me and continued forward.
Suddenly a dark cloud rushed in front of me and I nearly jumped. It took a while for me to realize what it was. Glamadora's demon form.
"Hello child. Seems you have awoken your mind!" Her voice boomed through the dim room and I felt a headache come on strong.
"What have you done to me? Where is Jackson? If you have done something to him I swear-"
She cut me off with a fitful laugh and I almost cursed at her for interrupting my rant. "We are in your mind silly girl! I can't really hurt you physically. But, I can hurt you mentally!" She grinned a rebellious grin and started towards me.
I threw myself away from her path and felt the wall hit behind me. Glamadora laughed again and flicked her demon eyes towards me for the first time since I have seen her.
The darkness hit me and I felt for protection from the wall. It was almost like she couldn't stop laughing at my foolishness and my temper and heat rose with every bit of shit that came from her mouth.
Suddenly my knees buckled and I fell to my knees without warning. I was coughing up a storm when I heard Glamadora's steps echo as she came closer. "I have had enough of you Vanessa Jones. You will rule me no more!" she whispered dangerously.
I pulled away with an effort to look at her. Her face was emotionless now and her eyes had stayed dark demon eyes.
"I am sorry Glamadora. I have taken my power and used it too much, not knowing there was someone I was using as well. I will never forget the sacrifices your brother and you have given to help us survive in such harsh environments. I will work you hard no more. Just please don't leave and stay to fight beside me instead of for me!" I pleaded keeping my voice steady so it wouldn't crack.
For only a moment I saw understanding and sympathy In her eyes. It had slowly turned back to dark brown human eyes and she only stared and then after a long pause she stood with no effort at all.
"I am gratified by your apologie Ms. Jones but I am afraid you are to late. There is already a battle that is comensing and I have made an oath as to not stop it."
I was taken aback by her answer and was left stuttering for the right words. "What exactly do you mean a battle? What have you done GLAMADORA?!!" I yelped my voice getting louder every word.
There was a ghostly smile on her face as she slowly spoke the next set of words with a gleam in her eyes. "It is but only a battle between Hell and humanity. But, best of all, Your little family is out there fighting for me to stay with you! " She replied swiftly without taking one glance back at me.
I bit my lip to stop myself from screaming at her and I shifted around so I could stand up. I almost gasped when I realized something. Glamadora looked exactly like me! Same hair, same eye color, skin color, even the same height. She also had the same voice as I did but she just used it with such power that it was hard to recognize. Then it dawned on me. She is me.
The demon took the form of their owner and was basically them when on earth. At least that is what Jace had whispered to me during one of the fights we encountered, which was one to many!
I heard her shuffle a little too just as she noticed the same thing I did. She didn't know herself what she was doing? That she made herself look like me?
She cleared her throat and leaned closer to me with a little urgency to it. "I believe I have made a mistake trying to leave you or maybe I haven't." she paused and her eyes turned back to it's original dark demon color.
"Why should I believe a useless mundane-?" she asked herself and me at the same time. "I am NOT A MUNDANE!" I interrupted before she got to finish.
She blinked in surprise then let out a breath she didn't need in the first place. "Let the gods of Hell bring destruction to you Vanessa Jones. I promise we will succeed." She finished and began to walk away. "No don't leave yet-" "I am not leaving I am just taking a stroll around your dying body. " her voice seemed to have a smile in it.
"Dying body? What do you mean by that ridiculous statement?" I asked jogging after her wide strides.
"The more I resist staying here the more you begin to wither away. Also, the longer the little battle out there lasts also counts like poisonous bullets to your heart!" She chuckled then shrugged innocently as I stared her down with hatred.
"You are saying that you are killing me just because you think you are working to hard?!" I stated while moving closer with hate on my mind.
Glamadora rolled her eyes and then snapped her fingers together. Lights turned on one by one, illuminating my mind even more.
I looked around in horror as I saw demons of all sorts huddled in the corners, always ready to strike.
"What are those doing in here?" I questioned as I walked towards the brightest light of them all. "They were always here. Have you never heard of the mind's demons?" she asked a little curiously.
"No I have. But, I really didn't care about it." I giggled and flipped my hair from my eyes. Glamadora stopped in front of a weird looking screen that was laced with nasty vines and moss.
"What is this contraption?" I asked thoughtfully and relaxed a little as I realized that she wasn't mad that I was asking too many questions.
"It shows what is going on outside by your physical body right now. Gather around Vanessa Jones. It is time to see which will win This one."
I rolled my eyes and sat on a rocky unsturdy chair quickly before she could get mad. "It is time indeed to see who will win.
Hell or Humanity?"
