I turn my head around but detected no one that could have said that to me. No one was looking in my direction and the teacher was on the other side of the room. I turn my head back around to get another look at him.

But he was gone.

Chapter 2

I didn't give it much thought the next day. I passed by people in the hallways tempting for me to touch whatever glowed in their possession. I saw a blonde freshman walk past me with a key-chain hanging from his backpack. It glowed a vibrant blue and I was forcing myself not to reach out and touch it. A senior walked by with her baseball cap hanging loosely from her head. It radiated a neon pink and I knew it was a far more important memory than the key-chain. I hurried by, ignoring everyone around me because I was way too scared to be caught, trying to touch anyone's items.

As I scurried past a throng of people I had bumped into someone in my way. I fell down as my papers flew around me, people that were nearby began to stare. I have never cause this much attention before and I started to clean up my binders. I looked up to the person who caused me to fall. It was a girl around my age. I have never seen her face around. She had long brown hair, tied up in a high ponytail, her cheeks were red and chubby, Her eyes were a hazel colour and she was tall and stocky. She picked up a few of my papers and handed them to me. She gave me a genuine smile but I was to mortified to give one back. As she held out her hand, I was hesitant to take it. But as I reach out to grab it though, I noticed that the bracelet she was wearing was glowing. I tried to take my hand back but I froze and she grabbed my hand. I was taken back to a memory.

November 5th

"Why did we have to move dad?"

It was the same girl sitting in a small car, the man to be driving, I assumed was her father. He was tall and stocky just like her, and their faces resembled each other very much. One of the only differences was that her dads eyes was a pale blue instead of hazel and his hair was more unruly and reddish. The girl stared out the window before turning to her father.

"I liked England way more than Ontario"

She huffed as she rested her elbow against the car window. Her chin was set on top of her palm. Her dad sighed as he rolled his eyes. Then he forced a smile onto his face.

"Listen, Elena. We need a new start. And moving to Ontario is just what we need for one. Ever since your mom*"

"Don't talk about mom, dad."

I could see that she was trying to hold back tears. Maybe something happened to her mom? the window was stained with raindrops on the outside. But it was stained with tears on the inside.

She looked down at me, worried. She helped me get up and immediately let go of my hand. Her bracelet's colour died down, signalling that it had no further memories. I tried to get the right words out but I didn't know what to say. So I turned around and started leaving. Good job, Jenna. You didn't even say thank you! I turned around to say something.

"Th-th-thank you."

I stuttered. Elena looked at me, surprised and happy.

"You're welcome."
