"Monster," Myron echoed my voice and looked across at me. "Or creature?"

I shook my head, my cheeks wet from the tears I never knew had sprouted, "monster."

I watched as Myron's expression dropped immediately. I saw worry, shock and most of all, confusion all cross his face. His eyes frantically moved around the room, looking everywhere except directly at me. I could tell he was trying to figure out what to do but nothing was coming to his mind. Of course, I was no help as I just stood there as tears spooled out my eyes and my shoulders shook rapidly. Every time I blinked the image of monsters would appear, causing me to sob harder. After blinking, I reopened my eyes however this time the image of the monster hadn't disappeared and it was there in front of me, behind Myron. I then realized that it wasn't an image. It was real. Just like the one in the attic. My first and initial reaction was to scream; so I did. I let out an ear piercing scream causing Myron to jump in surprise. Myron's eyes followed my gaze and looked behind him. I saw his eyes widen remarkably as he saw the monster.

Suddenly his instincts kicked in. He turned back to me, grabbed my arm and began running towards the stairs, dragging me along behind him. I felt as if I was in a daze. Everything was spinning around me and it was as if I was in my own little world, a constant stream of screams escaping my mouth. In the distance I could hear Myron shouting out Allie's name, frantically searching around for her. My screams soon died down as my throat became sore. I still couldn't properly register what was going on around me and I was relying on Myron to drag me along with him to wherever we were going. I assumed we were looking for Allie since Myron was shouting her name and it echoed through the house. We were running through the house and down the stairs which, being the klutz I am, I managed to trip on causing Myron and I to both go tumbling down.

We landed with a thump and I let out a groan of pain as Myron landed on me, crushing me with his weight. Fortunately, he wasted no time in scrambling to his feet. As soon as he was up, I saw him glance up the stairs, his eyes filling in fright as he saw the monster at the top of the stairs. This time, however, Myron didn't seem to be able to turn back. His eyes stayed focused upon the monster at the top of the stairs. The monster let out a low growl as it began venturing down the stairs. Myron just stood there, frozen to the spot. I knew it was time for me to kick in. I had to push my fear behind me otherwise the monster would get us both with me lying on the floor here and Myron standing there in his trance.

I pushed myself up and onto my feet and I ran to Myron who seemed to be walking towards the monster. I reached out and curled my fingers around his sinewy arm. With all my strength, I jerked him back. He stumbled on his steps backwards and ended up crashing into me causing me to again, use all my strength, and stop us from falling. At this, the monster at the top of the stairs began pounding down them, its claws digging into the carpet at every step it took.

"Myron," I said warily, taking a shaky step backwards. The monster's speed got faster. I said Myron's name again but it seemed that he was in the same trance again. I grabbed Myron's hand and began running towards the front door, Myron in full tow behind me. It seemed as if it were that which made him get his grasp back on reality as the next thing I knew, his footsteps were matching mine as I ran. A loud cry of pain escaped my lips as I felt, what I guess was the monster, scratch the back of my leg and down to my ankle. One of its sharp claws and dug into the top of my legs and so when I lifted my leg, the claw ran down the length of my leg. I tried to suppress the cries that followed because of the pain that erupted in my leg every time I took a step forwards. Myron immediately slipped an arm around my shoulders, supporting some of my weight so I was able to run with less pain traveling through my leg. We soon reached the front door and Myron leant forwards so he could reach and pull it open. I stepped out onto the concrete pathway that lead up to the house and continued to run. I turned my head to look over my shoulder to see the monster was no longer chasing us. It had disappeared. Thinking that my eyes were just playing tricks on me, I turned back around and continued to run with Myron. Feeling bad for putting almost all my weight on Myron, I tried to take some off him so I was running more of my own. When I did so, the pain worsened and I bit down on my bottom lip to hold in my cries on pain. Myron noticed this and turned towards me only to shoot me a pointed look and he supported my weight again. We were running for some while but eventually our pace slowed down majorly to a simple walk.
