“We have to tell them sooner or later…” I argued. It was bad enough… Andie left the ball before I could even explain. He didn’t reply to my messages nor answered my calls. I was beginning to worry when Luke suddenly stopped the car on a dark corner on the street.
“Allie…I’m sorry for what I’ve did. I just thought that our disguise will be found out if I’d let that oaf kiss you. I panicked.” It was too dark to see his expression.
“You should be apologizing to Andie and not to me.”
“Probably…”
“What do you have against him anyway?”
“Against Marco? Nothing. He’s just…”
“Just what?”
“Too, you know, pushy. Like he gets what he wants and all that.”
“You’re wrong. Andie is a sweet guy.”
“Who nearly kissed you without warning!”
I was surprised. We haven’t had such a heated argument since we were still together.
“Okay… Just take me home. We’ll think of something.”
When we reached my front door, “I’ll call you in the morning.” Luke said and drove off.
When I’ve reached my room, there was a message left by Juli.
“Tomorrow, 5pm. meet me at my house. We’re going to have a celebration!”
I was too tired to call her back… I don’t know if I’d be able to sleep though.
Then my phone beeped a message from Andie.
“Meet me at the park tomorrow at 7am. Got something to tell you.”
So basically tomorrow, I have a busy day ahead of me…

When I reached the park, Andie was already sitting at one of the benches. When I sat beside him, he didn’t say a word. Silence hung between us until he asked me, “What is Luke to you?”
“What?”
“What is Luke to you?” he said, now looking at me with his intense grey eyes.
“He is my friend.”
“Oh really? When he yelled at me, claiming you are his girl? You call that friend?” he was angry alright.
“He was my Ex. I was just—”
“So is that it? Putting up an act to deceive others? I like you Allie! I liked you since the first time I heard you sing. I thought that I have finally found the girl of my dreams. Turns out she has been on and off with a good friend of mine.”
“Andie, please let me explain, I didn’t want any of this to happen. I just did a friend a favour. That’s all. I never wanted to act as though we are still in love. The love is gone two years ago! Please understand.” I was now crying. I can’t help it. I never told anyone else about the break-up. Only my brother, Claire and Layla know about it.
“You know, I should be happy about this. Knowing you both broke-up, I should have a chance… But the thing is, the way you look at each other, it still is there. And when Luke punched me last night, I could feel that he is still into you.”
“That’s absurd! Luke has been in love with somebody else! That is why we even broke up!” (Oh no, did I just say that?)
“You are one clueless girl, Allie.” He stood up and then he left, leaving me on the bench with a lot of questions. One of those is that, why do I suddenly felt bad when Andie walked away? Why did had I wanted to explain to him so badly? When he tried to kiss me last night, did I want him to? Did I hold back because I know people might see us and ruin the charade?
