Two years have passed since the dramatic turn of events. Juli is getting married today and I was chosen first violin in her wedding. I’d be playing Pachelbel’s Cannon in D as she walks down the aisle. When it was finally time, I played and oh man she was beautiful. She was a blushing bride and Edilburg was smiling broadly. When the mass went on, I noticed that almost everyone was there. And somehow deep inside, I wished Luke was here. I haven’t heard from him since he left for UK.
A few days after the wedding, I was given the opportunity to play as a guest violinist in a famous musical show which is sponsored by some rich guys from England. It was my first time to do a live duet with a piano. I haven’t even practiced with the pianist yet and the day of the concerto is drawing near. I asked the manager if he would allow me to play with the pianist even just this once. But he refused.
I practiced alone in one of the concert halls. I was nervous and my fingers kept on fidgeting at the final vibrato.
“Shall I accompany you then? Seems you are having trouble.” A familiar voice said.
No way… Impossible…
“Is there something wrong Miss Garnet?”
When I turned towards him, I was already crying.
“Nothing at all Mr. Verhona.”
He smiled at me. The smile that I have missed for a long time.
